Stats

We just completed a three night stay here. This is a boutique hotel, so don't expect all the features of a full-size Hilton. It is a very cozy hotel, but provides exceptional service.

Pros

Exceptional service.

Smaller hotel, so not likely to have large groups of kids roaming around.

Great Location

Great for couples

Cons

Small Rooms

Temperature in room is set 23.5 C.

It's an older building so not many plugs

Our room was the upgraded deluxe king. There is a queen superior, which is their "standard" room, which is apparently smaller. While this room was a lot smaller than we are used to, it is typical for a lot of Europe, where you are in your room to sleep, and spend the day out doing things. There was a night stand on either side of the bed, though one is quite small. There is also one plug on either side of the bed, as well as one USB port. There were an additional 2 plugs in the room along with another in the bathroom. The TV was a Samsung in the 40" range.

The hotel is located about a 1/2 mile from the Arc and little over a mile from the Eiffel Tower. It is a great location to see the city as it is near many subway stations along with a few bus routes. The hotel is on a one-way side street, which can help keep the noise down. There are many food places within a short walking distance including many bakeries and cafes. There is also a Pizza Hut almost right next to the hotel.

Dining

Breakfast was included for us and was one of my favorite aspects of the hotel. The picture represents a portion of what is included. In addition to many pastries, there are also many other meats, plate of cheese, and fruit. Beverages included OJ, usually another juice, milk, soy milk and waters. Coffees can be ordered along with drinks such as lattes. The seating for breakfast are various tables and chairs scattered around the ground floor. Napkins along with silverware are already set at each place.

The hotel does have a bar, which opens at noon and runs till 10-11 depending on night. It is located right by the front desk and will usually be staffed by someone from the desk, who will come over to take your order. There is an ok selection of liquors, beers, and wines. They also have some appetizers and snacks, which can be ordered along with your drinks.

Service

The service at this hotel was exceptional. We arrived from the US mid-morning, and they had us in a room shortly after arrival. While we were waiting their breakfast hostess came by and got us some drinks and wanted to see if we wanted any food. We were there celebrating our anniversary, which we listed in the reservation. When we got to our room, they had a bottle of champagne on ice, along with two glasses, and some snacks. Our luggage had also been delivered by the time we got to our room. When we were heading out in the morning, they were quick to ask if we needed an umbrella or wanted a taxi.

Hotel Layout

The layout of the hotel was quite unique and something I wanted to mention. The building is over a hundred years old. In typical European fashion, the lobby is on the ground floor, with five additional floors above for rooms. Each floor has five rooms on it. There is a second building behind the courtyard, which has about as many rooms as well. The elevator does not stop at each floor, but between the floors. Our room was on the 1st floor, and if we took the elevator up a floor, it would put us in between 1 & 2. we would then walk the stairs down to 1. In the lobby near the desk is a door, which leads to the stairs, which is how we usually got to our room.

Overall

Overall, we enjoyed the hotel. It was a great hotel for the two of us. We found out that there were three other couples there celebrating an anniversary. It was in a great location, with easy access to the rest of the city. There were a couple of quirky features, which could be an issue for some. A small fan would have improved the room situation as well.
