Hyatt Place Page / Lake Powell, New Hotel Near Grand Canyon

Were were on our trip to see the Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend.  So Page is our next stop.  There were several choices: Hampton Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Sleep Inn, Country Inn & Suites etc.  

Hyatt Place Page had the weekend sale at that time.  The cash rate was like $95 + tax.  It was a category 4 hotel that requires 15,000 points.  It has been changed to category 3 now and requires 12,000 points.

I chose to pay the cash rate instead of 15,000 points.  This was a steal for a almost brand new hotel.

The check-in was very easy and smooth.  It is a Hyatt Place, so do not expect the full service of valet and bell staff.

Hyatt members are not entitled for any upgrade at Hyatt Place.  I believe most of the rooms at the hotel are about the same size.  So there is no upgrade to say about the rooms.

Our room is a premium room facing the river.  I think this is about the only upgrade we can expect.

This is a brand new hotel.  The room is clean.  The room is also of good size.  You do not feel that this is a Hyatt Place property.  It is always good to stay at a new hotel.

This is a almost brand new hotel, so everything was working properly.  All the hotel staff was friendly.  We were happy about the service.

The breakfast was included.  It is traditional American breakfast, egg, baccon, sassage, potato etc.  It was good quality.

There is also a lobby bar that serves drinks and bar food, like burgers and sandwiches.  The prices look reasonable.

This hotel is located on a hill, overlooking highway 89, and the river.  The view is spectacular.  I believe the view is better than from the Courtyard which is located at the foot of the hill.

Page is the town that is closest to the Antelope Canyon and the Horseshoe Bend.  It is right off the mighty Colorado River.  It is also close to Glen Canyon National Recreational Area, Grand Canyon and many other attractions.

There is a good sized gym to keep guests busy.  We did not get chance to use it since we were busy out exploring.

There is an outdoor pool.  But it was not open when we visited it over the winter.

At 12,000 points and probably even cheaper cash price, this hotel offers tremendous value.  I think the point value drops since there are so many hotels competing in that area.  There could be over-building of hotels.  You can expect to get discount rates during off peak season, probably in cold winter or even super hot summer.

I highly recommend this hotel.  It is brand new, located on the hill overlooking Colorado river and has great view.  

It is also close to the local shops and restaurants.  There are quite some good restaurants.  I highly recommend the El Tapatio.
