Holistically speaking Seaford, DE is not a destination city. As such, there are no "nice" hotels. The Holiday Inn Express and the Hampton Inn down the street are the "fancy" hotels. Therefore, any compliments and/or critiques shall be kept in line with the price point and overall expectations for this locale.

Check In

The Lobby was open and spacious. A dedicated car overhang area was appreciated in case it rained when unloading. An old school staircase allows you to bypass the elevator if you stay on the 2nd floor.IMG_3020.jpg

Room

As a Spire Elite member, I appreciated the upgrade from a double double to a King Suite. The room included a bedroom with a double door. The fold out couch bed, is honestly designed only for children. Ask my spine later how it liked the springs haha. The kitchenette had an ice cold fridge that was fully operational and did not make any weird noises or groans or anything.IMG_3017.jpgIMG_3016.jpgIMG_3014.jpgIMG_3013.jpg

The Bathroom was spacious and well maintained. I saw no issues with caulking. Door frame was in good condition. 4 towels provided. Nothing really notable but I did appreciate the granite countertop. Better than I expected for this place.

Also, this is probably small but i really appreciated that there were two heater/air conditioning units. It helped as it's plausible who ever is in the living wants a different temperature from the bedroom. I find about half the hotels had a 1 foot x 1 foot vent for the entire room and effectively negates the ability to modify temperatures. NOT HERE!

Service

Service was not relevant. Front desk lady was nice and extremely quick when I arrived. I have no complaints.

Dining

Breakfast, shockingly, was better than the local Hampton Inn. The eggs were held in a hot section container with door. Eggs were a little dried out, but at least they weren't the soup fest of some other hotels. I really appreciated that they had chobani yogurt in blueberry and strawberry flavors. IMG_3018.jpgIMG_3019.jpgIMG_3023.jpg

The pancake maker worked extremely well. I have only seen the waffle makers (and the aftermath thereof in Hiltons) at other hotels. The pancake maker was super simple. Press a button. No mess, no batter. Nothing. Just press the freakin button people. One and done.

Location

Off of Route 13, it's hard to miss. It's the main corrider of this city/town/splot on the map. Kinda hard to miss. This is where all of the notable restaraunts are. All the hotels. Everything. What goes down the other roads pray tell thee? Houses, dirt, farms, etc. Nothing you need to know.

Overall

Overall I would recommend this place. Our room was $125 including taxes and 5000 bonus IHG rewards points. I think it would have been $110 for regular rate. As long as you keep your expectations in check, you'll like it here. It's not the Conrad New York or Kimpton Seafire but for Seaford honestly it might as well be.
