We stayed for four nights each at the Hilton Prague and the Hilton Old Town Prague. Using the Citi Prestige credit card that gave us two free nights whereas if we'd stayed at one of the hotels for 8 nights we would have received only one free night. Overall I'd rate the Hilton Prague better on almost everything except location, as the Old Town is much better situated. I booked a King Executive Suite at both hotels and in both cases was told I was upgraded (as a Gold) to an Executive Suite. At the Hilton Prague this gave us a separate living room and bedroom plus two bathrooms. One bathroom had a shower and the other had both a shower and a large bathtub. At the Old Town the separate living and bed area were pretty much the same but it only had one bathroom with only a shower. I was told that even another step upward to a Governor's Suite would not have provided a separate tub and shower. The Executive Lounge at the Hilton Prague was huge but since the hotel is the largest in the Czech Republic it was fairly crowded both at breakfast and at evening drink/canape time. The Old Town Executive Lounge while far smaller was a bit less crowded. At both places you have your choice of the lounge breakfast or the buffet in the main restaurant. I found the Hilton Prague buffet slightly better with a few more choices. The Old Town buffet had many empty dishes when we were there which did not seem to be properly replenished. The Old Town lounge has a fairly small selection of items but was much less of a zoo than the downstairs buffet and the selection of fruit was better than downstairs. The evening food was similar at both places and neither seemed to change the offerings as much as I would have preferred from night to night. The Hilton Prague saved their cheese board for after the drink/canape period whereas the Old Town served it with the other food. We used the car service to and from the airport and within Prague and were happy with it. (The same contracted vendor provides it at both hotels.) I'm aware if you are on a budget it isn't the cheapest option but at $37 USD (900 CZ) for airport pick-up and $33 USD (800 CZD) for drop-off it seems pretty reasonable to have someone meeting you with a sign board and helping with luggage. You also likely will get someone much more fluent in English than your average Prague cab driver. For shorter trips within Prague the car service is a flat rate that starts at $8 (200 CZ) and goes up. The wireless internet in both hotels was satisfactory. (I was only using it to surf the Web and check e-mail so don't know if it was fast enough to stream movies etc.) Overall both hotels are satisfactory and if you are choosing between them the biggest factor would be how important is is to be in the center of things. If that is important pick Old Town but otherwise choose the Hilton Prague.
