Stats

Hilton Hampton Inn was our last stop from Page (Antelope Canyon) back to Sedona to take the Pink Jeep Tour in early 2019.  Some of the propeties, like Hyatt RC Sedona, was not available.  Since I had so many Hilton points, I decided to burn 42,000 Hilton points to book for one night stay there.

Check In

We drove our car to the hotel.  The hotel lobby is small.  No one was on duty even though "Sadie" was supposed to be on duty.

Several guest came to look for the manager on duty.  No one was around.  Guests rang buzzer, no response.

Then after about 40 minutes, some lady returned.  No apologies, no explanation.

Room

This hotel is an old property.  It seems have two sections combined together.  Our room was on the second level, a regular room with two beds.  The inside decor is old.  Carpet, furniture all look old.

Dining

Morning breakfast was included.  It has meat, egg, pastry and fruits.  But the quality was not as good as most of the hotels we've been.  The breakfast lady was really slow to replenish the trays.  Sometimes some plates and trays were empty of food.  Maybe it was for cost saving?

The coffee in hotel lobby was stale and not very hot.  It tasted bitter and I had to pour away.  Even the morning breakfast coffee was not that good and we had to wait for the breakfast lady to bring in new coffee.

It appears the hotel was really understaffed.

Location

This hotel is located at 1800 W. Highway 89A, which is at the West side of the Senoda.  It is away from the Art and Shopping center of Sedona.  There are still quite a few restaurants and shops close by.  But in general, you need cars to get around.

Overall

At 42,000 Hilton points, the total point value is about $210.  For the service offered, this was not a really good value.  The service was lacking, staff understaffed.  The property is outdated.

After we returned, I filled out the survey sent from Hilton.  Robert from Aimbridge Hospitality redponded back and acknowledged our feedback.  He just issued a simple apology and that was all we received.

So if you get other choices, I'd stay away from Hilton Hampton Inn Sedona.

Service

The service was lacking and the hotel was understaffed.  The front desk was empty and off-duty for at least 40 minutes.  No incoming guests and existing guests could reach hotel staff.

The breakfast dining room lady was very slow.  Plates and trays were slow to get refilled.  Some of the fruit plates were never filled again at the time we checked out.

Fitness Room

The hotel has a small fitness room on ground floor.  It was mainly treadmill.  Teenage daughter tried to use the treadmill and she fell to floor and had kneel scraped.  We informed the front desk staff about the fall and requested bandage.  Staff asked us to pay.  We paid $2-$3 for the bandage.
