Amazing hotel. Highly recommend for your stay in Beijing. Great price point. Great value!

Check In

The check in was smooth. I had applied and use an SNA for the Ambassador Suite and was awarded it for my stay there. I was welcomed for my loyalty and since I was staying on the FHR program, I got 1000 welcome points as a Bonvoy member. It was a quick check in and we were on our way.

Room

This is the Ambassador Suite. It was absolutely beautiful. I used an SNA to upgrade to it, and it was totally worth it. This was a date visit with my wife and we thought the room was really great. We had a living room area, dining room area and a desk area. The bedroom had a separate door which cut off the rest of the suite. The other thing that was great was the walk in closet. It was definitely great to see how the "other side" live, as I can see this being how the rich stay at most hotels out there.

Bathroom

This was a full suite and had two bathrooms. A half bathroom with a toilet and sink near the entrance and a full bathroom off the bedroom. Photos attached. First one is the half bathroom. I didn't have time to use the bathtub but it is the biggest one I have ever seen in a hotel room, and when we return to this hotel, I will have to make time to use the bath!

Gym

The gym was full of people, so I didn't take photos. This hotel also has serviced apartments as part of the complex and the gym is located on the side where these apartments are. It is a full size gym and very well equipped. I was able to maintain my normal workout regime on both days we were at the hotel, which is a rare find at most hotels, as they always have small gyms with only a bit of equipment. This one has enough to do a full work out.

Service

The service is exactly as you would expect at the St. Regis. The floor butler for my floor came around and introduced herself. My wife took advantage of the coffee/tea service while I was at the gym and they brought a most delicious tea. We didn't use their packing or unpacking service, but the butler was quick with responding to our needs. Ahh, yes, my wife wanted extra lotion, and the butler had housekeeping bring us extras within minutes. Excellent service!

Dining

We ate at the main restaurant for Friday buffet dinner. It was a little over $100US for two of us. The buffet itself was a bit disappointing for the price, and the steak that I got to choose was quite small. Perhaps only 70-80 grams, which isn't much. The quality of what we did get was very good.

We also ate breakfast the next morning in the main restaurant and the selection was great. I felt that was a meal worth eating in that restaurant.

On our next visit, we will most likely use the FHR $100 food credit on room service rather than the evening buffet as we can pick and choose foods we want to try rather than relying on a buffet that may or may not have what we like.

Location

We didn't pick this for the location, however, this is a mall nearby which is pretty unique, and the embassy/park area around this hotel is nice for walking outside if the weather is nice and the AQI within reason. The hotel is quite central to a lot of things, but location wasn't a factor in why we picked this hotel.

Overall

Overall we loved our stay. We had done the St.R in Tianjin previously and the two hotels are night and day different. The Beijing one is absolutely what a St. Regis should be. We are already thinking about our next visit. We really loved it that much.

Thus far it is our favorite hotel in Beijing that belongs to Marriott. The luxury is comparable to the Four Seasons for 1/3 the price.
