Location

The hotel's location is it's best feature. It is a short walk from the Hatton Cross tube station, and if you take the crosswalk, you will enter through the back of the hotel.

However, the downside is that there are practically no options for food/drink in the immediate vicinity, leaving the hotel resturants as the only easy options. I tried looking at Uber Eats and Deliveroo, but their service areas end across the street. So theroetically you could order delivery if you're tired, but it will take some extra effort.

Room

My room was a "Queen Room," which is supposedly 17 square meters (183 square feet). However, the shape the makes the room feel much smaller.

It is best to think of this room as a narrow hallway with a very small bathroom attached and a equally small cutout for a queen bed. The wardrobe/TV stand took up quite a bit of room, making things a tight squeeze.

The bed was adequate, however the poor sound insulation means that you can easily hear people in the hallway or those in the adjoining rooms. For me, this was a problem because I was woken up by a very loud party in the room across from mine checking in at 3am.

I don't have a bathroom picture, but just like the room, Hilton worked hard to fit in a toilet, sink, and bath/shower. Overall, the bathroom is extremely functional, but a bit crammed.

As for electronics, the room had a small TV with a decent selection of channels. Wifi is free for all, but should be avoided during peak times. I ran a speedtest in the early afternoon and got about 10Mbps down. However betwen evening and midnight it slows to a crawl. If you have mobile data service, that may be a more consistent choice. As for power plugs, I only found UK sockets, which was disappointing for an airport hotel, but most travelers will have the requisite adapters.

Dining

(dinner: starter salad, calamari, chicken tikka masala)

Because of the location, I booked a rate that included dinner and breakfast.

For dinner, one appetizer, main course, and desert is included (though you could go for two appetizers/deserts). For certain more expensive main courses, I believe you are restricted to one main course and one appetizer or desert.

Sadly I did not take any pictures of the breakfast buffet, but CMK10 has some great pictures earlier in the hotel thread. However, the wide variety of foods was a pleasant surprise for me.

Overall

All I was looking for was a convinently located bed for the night. Even though the rooms were small and could do with some better noise insulation, Hilton Garden LHR is a good value.
