Stats

There really are not so many hotels in a city of only 30,000+ residents. This property seemed to have the best location.

Overall this is an excellent option for a short or longer stay on business or pleasure.

We had not planned to go to Juneau at all, but Alaskan Airlines canceled our direct flight to Anchorage and re-routed us through Juneau. I suspect you could regularly also book such a routing if you just want to spend a single day in Juneau.

Dining

There was no breakfast on offer at this hotel. This was a bit of a shocker to me. Since we were leaving very early in the morning, this did not really matter to us. The lady at the reception mentioned two places within walking distance we could visit.

The restaurant McGivney's Sportsbar and Grill is closed Wednesdays. They apparently offer brunch on Sundays.

Location

The hotel is located right in the middle of town. You certainly do not need a car to walk the city.

I felt Juneau had the feeling of being a ski resort town without a lift nearby (I understand that there is a ski area not too far away). The city is very walkable with lots of quirky shops, cafes and restaurants.7C500989-A3E5-479F-89DE-08CCEC529247.jpeg

The sunrise was really beautiful!

We did all of the sight-seeing in about one hour of walking.

It is cold here in the winter. I think we have -18 C on December 1. The positive aspect is that this increase the likelihood of seeing the Northern Lights. Our taxi driver recommended a point a few miles from the hotel where you can often see them.

Our room overlooked the water. There are also mountain-view rooms.

The ride to the airport is about 10 minutes. There are options with rideshare, taxis and there is a public bus that runs about every 30 minutes from right next to the airport for 2 USD per person.31EC2D5E-0AAB-4F39-B436-650C0C97D70D.jpeg917AE940-2599-4DEC-A845-CFC7959F6A93.jpeg

Room

I felt the room was fairly standard for a Four Points. The beds were comfortable.

The bathroom was functional. I thought it was a bit strange that the lid was up when we entered the room.0CD6CD77-519A-4007-85B0-2E330B0E77D9.jpeg

It was really chilly when we entered the room, but the heater was able to warm up the room in just a few minutes. We stayed her only for about 7 hours in total, so we did not use the room a lot. I did not notice any modern USB ports, but we did find sufficient outlets.

I liked the multiple use bottles, but one of them (shower gel) was actually empty. I had some of my own so I did not try to get it re-filled.

There were plenty of towels.9FEC467B-AA77-47E9-8720-5F09B0EEDD04.jpeg

Check In

We had checked in using mobile check in. However, they were not ready when we arrived. The process was quick enough and there was no waiting time. My Ambassador status was recognized, but I do not think I got any upgrade. Perhaps the water view is an upgrade?

There was a hand-written note in the room along with a bag of snacks.
