Four Points by Sheraton Anchorage Downtown [Master Thread]

The hotel has a good location and is in walking distance to many attractions, shops, restaurants, etc. It is often cheaper than the Marriott. It seems to have been recently renovated.

Like the other Marriott hotels in the downtown area there are no shuttles offered. If that is important to you, consider the midtown properties.

Uber is available. I think the airport is about 20-25 USD.

Public buses are also available nearby. It seems the Alaskan standard pricing for buses is 2 USD. You can also get to the airport by bus form here. The station is only two minutes away. The ride takes 30 minutes and costs, you guess it, 2 USD.

Other than that go for a stroll and enjoy the fresh air. If it is winter remember a thick coat and gloves! I think it was -10 C during my stay.

The view from the room shows that Anchorage even in the downtown area is very spread out.

The check in was without any issues. We received recognition of my platinum status. 

I was not explicitly offered any platinum amenity options. I later asked about this. It seems that I should get points PLUS a 10 USD F&B beverage credit for each person, which I used towards breakfast. If this proves ot be wrong information I will come back to correct it.

I do not think I received any upgrade, but I am not sure. Perhaps what I have is considered a suite. I booked a standard room.

The hotel only serves breakfast each morning. There are several a la carte options for breakdast in the range of 8-14 USD. Juices are extra. Coffee is free.

I had a skillet. It was unhealthy but prepared to expectation and serverd with real cutlery. How refreshing after four stays in Fairfield Inns. :)

There are plenty of outside restaurants in the area that could be visited.

The bathroom was fine with good water pressure

The room has two televisions, one in the bedroom, one in the separate living room. There is a notice on the table reminding guests that cleaning is only on demand due to staff shortages.

Sorry about the mess again. I was too tired upon arrival and did not take pristine photos. The two queen beds were comfortable. There were plenty of outlets for charging and plenty of lighting.

Plenty of hangars, an iron, ironing board and safe.

I like the sustainable dispensers!

The basin is unfortunately in the bedroom. I do not like this design as your disturb anyone else in the room that might be sleeping.

The separate living room was great to watch tv while my traveling companion was sleeping. The sofa is not a sofa bed. Underneath the television in this room is a small fridge for keeping personal items cold.
