Located just a stones throw away from the KLCC shopping mall, the Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur packs upscale luxury and posh designs for it’s guests.
The lobby looked grand and reminded me of a french chateau. I booked a club room, and received a one category upgrade to the executive suite.
The spacious suite was quite impressive, I loved the decor and it was evident that recent partial renovations were done. The bedroom was equally as stunning as the living room, leaving a lasting impression. The warm color tones with suede gradients for many of the furniture and decor complimented each other well.
I was slightly underwhelmed with the bathroom, as it did not carry over the same grandeur feel of the rest of the suite.
This Intercontinental hotel also provides the common Agraria amenities.
The view from the high Club floors are impressive.
On to the executive club lounge, why not ?
The executive club lounge at the Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur is extremely big, with another small seating area on a separate floor accessible through a flight of stairs.
Afternoon tea was great, the selection of bites and desserts were decent and I particularly loved the scones with clotted cream and jam. I’m usually a sucker for scones anywhere I go!
Evening cocktails begin at 6pm, and offer really high quality pre-dinner food.
A decent selection of cheese and chocolates at the executive club lounge during evening cocktails.
Some of the Thai inspired tapas were my favorites, also pictured are a few pieces of cured beef, smoked salmon and sun-dried tomatoes for good measure.
Breakfast is also served in the executive club lounge and while I prefer to go to the main restaurant for breakfast, I opted for a little more privacy this time at the comfort of the executive club lounge at the Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur. I hate to admit it, but I do prefer the Nasi Lemak in Malaysia instead of Singapore. The mee mamak was also on point.
Serena Brasserie is the usual buffet venue for Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner, located at the lobby of the hotel.
I found the swimming pool to be underwhelming, it reminded me of the pool at the Crowne Plaza Manilla Galleria.
Overall, I consider the Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur a decent hotel. However, considering price point and my experience I prefered my stay at the nearby Doubletree Kuala Lumpur.
