Stayed here for two nights during the Royal Highland show as all other Edinburgh hotels especially near the airport and city were £300+  This hotel was £125 per night.  (also think available for 30k points a night).

Easy to get to/from the airport using the bus (see location section) and there is also plenty of parking available.

There is nothing else around the hotel in walking distance - but it quite nice to walk over the old road bridge which is now only used for buses, bicycles and pedestrians (all cars etc go over the new bridge.

Bus is £9 for a day return or £6.50 single to the airport (bus 747)- not sure for the others direct into Edinburgh city centre but think they are cheaper. Bus stops right outside the hotel and you just walk up a slight slope through the garden to the hotel.

Restaurant on site was good, staff were friendly and helpful and rooms are all modern, clean and spacious.

Check In

The two people at the check-in desks were really friendly and both looked happym obviously enjoying their jobs.  They were really helpful a few queries I had regarding bus times, and leaving luggage early in the morning when I was checking out on the 2nd morning so I could go straight from breakfast to the 6.43am bus without having to go back to my room.

Room

Large king room with plenty of power sockets and USB ports by the bed and everywhere else !  sound from the TV also in the bathroom. Plenty of ameneties and everything clean and tidy.  Good wifi speed - and for those that require it plenty of TV channels.20180620_161234.jpg20180620_161304.jpg

Dining

The Shore restaurant on site has a good selection of food and the waiting staff were polite and helpful.  Food was good and not that expensive.  The fish pie was good and packed with fish - not the odd piece with plenty of sauce!  and had a nice potato topping.

Breakfast also served in here - good selection of hot and cold items. Breakfast starts from 6.30 but I was down at 6.20 and wasn't the first person there. All hot dishes were out ready.

The Shore also has wonderful views over the two bridges - especially if you get a table by the window. 1_20180620_171032.jpg

Location

Easy access to Edinburgh and the airport - picture of bus timetable for the airport below but there are plenty of other buses that go direct into Edinburgh city very frequently.  The bus stops right outside the hotel from the airport direction, but to go back to airport/city you need to use the underpass which does involve several (many) steps.  The 747 bus runs moreorless 24 hours and in June 2018 ws £6.50 one way to the airport of £9.00 for a day return.  I think the prices of the other buses direct into Edinburgh are a couple of £ cheaper.
