Stayed one night at this property just to check it out with the current ongoing sale and also to keep my points active since it was sometime ago that I had an activity in my account.  It was well priced as I also had some private appointments the day before and after around Eindhoven, I decided to check this property out.

Location

The property is centrally located on the other end of the city centre (using the train station as the reference point).  They do have their own (paid) parking facilities but I believe it's quite limited.  Of course outside of this, there's lots of parking garages in the area.

From the station it is most probably a 15-20 mins walk (would recommend only if there's not much large luggage).  Alternative would be take a bus from the station, it's about 3-4 stops from the station.

Check In

Since I was going to arrive quite early, I did call ahead to check if it was possible to have an early check-in and was glad that it was possible (without any surcharge).  I arrived slightly after 12 pm and the same personal whom I spoke to was the same that checked me in.  The whole process was fast and very friendly. I was even asked if I had an preference for a room location (which was very welcomed especially as a non-elite card holder).  I was also given a run down of the service offered at the hotel.

Room

I went with the room recommended with a view of the street in front of the hotel which had minimal traffic.  The room was on the 3rd floor.  It was a spacious room, however, it was quite outdated - it was still functional, but it was clearly time to get a refurbishment.

There was a working desk with sufficient electrical outlets, but other than that, as expected from such a dated property, the position and number of these outlets were limited.  Even with a number of lights, the room was on the dark side.

The room had tea/coffee making facilities and also an empty mini bar.  There was also a single chair close to the window.  Bed comfort was ok - although at least for me a top matrass would have made it much more comfortable.  All in all, sleep quality was good - without too much internal nor external noise/disturbance.

Climate control in the room worked well and fan noise level was ok. Wifi was complimentary and did work as expected.

The bathroom was ok in size, but as the rest of the room really in need of a refresh - but everything did work.  It was a bathtub/shower combination.  Both temperature water pressure was good.  The toiletries were from Elemis - which was a surprise, but truthfully that was the only thing luxurious of the room.  One weird thing was the placement of the toilet roll holder - it was at a position where it was close to impossible to get it without standing or having a more flexible body/arms.

Overall

I would have tried out the swimming/spa facilities, but since I forgot to bring my swimming shorts, I did not have the chance.

All in all, for the price paid, it was ok.  But truthfully if I had to pay the usual price without the current promotion I would say that it was a bit overprice especially without breakfast included.

My suspect of why there's not much investment to renovate the place and maintaining such rates is because under normal times, the area has limited hotel rooms for all the visiting business travellers to the area.

The best asset of the hotel from what I see is their staff - very friendly and helpful.  Will I return if I need a place in the city, it would depend on the price.
