Stats

The Chiltern Firehouse is the hotel of the moment and thanks to a little help from my cousin I recently stayed in the hotel and I can vouch it is all that it is cracked up to be.

My cousin came into London from NYC over New Years with his girlfriend and he stayed in a couple of hotels over his short break. One of the hotels we stayed in was The Chiltern Firehouse. The food in restaurant is to die for but in the hotel and bar areas in general the attention to detail is striking.

This attitude to attention to detail is carried over to rooms in the hotel. We stayed in room 11 which looks out over the courtyard. You will see in the pictures the room is quite big and the unusual feature of this room is the pillar where the fireplace lives right in the middle of room. It does create a natural break in the room of this size but it might bother some people.

Here's the room key

The room has a fireplace which was temperamental at first but the engineer was up in jiffy once called and sorted it all out with minimum us fuss.

We relaxed and soaked up the ambience to sounds from the iPod min and old school style USB speaker set they leave on in the room for when you arrive. A nice touch.

We were only there for one night as our main hotel was the Rosewood London so didn't really use the room to it's full potential. Suffice to say the bed is very comfortable for a hotel bed and interior has had a lot of subtle design effort put into.

I like the bathroom most of all and you can see it here in this video diary:

If fashionable and chic is your style (some people may find the patrons of the Firehouse pretentious) then this is your hotel. The bar downstairs is full of 'the beautiful people' and 'the beautiful people' include the staff who are ever attentive. I throughly recommend this hotel.

Final tip

Even if you don't get to stay in the hotel at least try and get yourself a booking at that restaurant and try that fried chicken of menu. It's best the fried chicken I've ever tasted
