Stats

Overall this hotel is a cheaper alternative with a good blue line connection to the airport and the city.

Check In

Check in was quick since I had done the mobile check in in the app. I do not think that mobile keys were possible.

Room

We were three persons. I am ambassador platinum. We were offered an upgrade from two doubles to a bigger junior suite with a king bed, two TVs and a sofa bed. We declined the upgrade since no one was willing to risk sleeping on the sofa bed.

The double was a bit tight for two people, but it was fine. Everyone was very happy with the sleeping comfort.

The room had not really been well prepared for three persons. There were only two coffee cups and the bathroom was set for two. The hotel fixed this rapidly when requested.

The room had a tv with an extra button for Netflix (you need your own personal subscription), plenty of outlets, a coffee machine, safe, alarm clock, etc.

Although on the top floor and in the flight path of the airport, no one complained about any noise. The view from the room was expansive but mostly onto other buildings and commercial spaces.

Everyone commented on the shower, which had really good water pressure and was generally very relaxing.

The room was clean and comfortable.

Dining

As a platinum, I received breakfast vouchers for all three persons. The vouchers are for the continental side of the breakfast which included bagels, bread, pastries, some whole fruit, Marmelade, orange juice and coffee.

For 7 USD you can upgrade to full Buffett. The Buffett is self-service and included Bircher Müsli, cut fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fried potatoes and pancakes.

We all opted for the full breakfast.

The eggs were dry and bland. Some of the pastries received good feedback, others were bland.

Overall the group considered the breakfast offering standard for a US hotel.

Location

The hotel is well located to the airport. There is a regularly running shuttle (at least every 30 minutes) to the airport. In my personal experience it was an on demand shuttle since there was little demand.

There is also a blue line station (Cumberland) very close to the hotel that makes for easy 30-40 minute trips into the city. At the moment there is a very good special pass available for 24 hours of transit for 5 USD. We all took this to get into the city.

Also, if you want to save a bit on hotel parking, the SpotHero lot is right next to the hotel and costs only 10 USD per night. Perhaps it is 40-50 steps further from the hotel parking. You can even easily pull your suitcases from that location.

Overall

We all liked this hotel for our purpose.

On one day we wanted to go into the city and it was well suited for that with the CTA station next door.

And then we needed to leave relatively early the next morning. One of us to the airport and the other by car.

This hotel also tends to be cheaper than many of the city hotels.
