Last Sunday we arrived to this hotel to learn that the water was shut off for the entire hotel.  I smiled and asked what hotel they were sending us to.  They said that since I had booked my room through priceline (via chase ultimate rewards) they weren't going to do anything.  I was incredulous.  I stood at their counter for over an hour watching them tell some there was no water, failing to mention it to others, watching customers come down to complain, watch them move some customers to another hotel, and basically act like nothing was going on.  I mentioned that I supposed it was illegal to check someone in to a hotel with no running water, but they were unphased.  They were determined to collect as much revenue as possible before people threw up their hands in disgust.  I should mention that they did offer to come and pour water in each of the used toilets in order to make them flush one more time.

Thinking that this was a local issue, I called Marriott customer service to state my issue expecting them to be shocked and move me straight away.  Nothing of the sort.  They called this property and were told the water would be on in 30 minutes (after telling everyone else it would be an hour and telling them that for over two hours) so the customer service stated that I had nothing to worry about.  Didn't matter that we were not going to be able to wash our hands, brush our teeth, or use the toilet.

When a property cannot provide the basic services that I imply in a contract with a hotel, how can they be so inhumane and uncaring as to simply say we hope it will be on some time, here is your key, or there is the door?

I am disgusted with Marriott and the people at the Marriott Market Center Suites.  They obviously place a few dollars over the value of a satisfied customer and the overall health of everyone in that hotel.  Their complete indifference was seriously appalling.

And be advised, that the so called help desk at Chase Ultimate Rewards is no better.  They just believed whatever the property was telling them and wishing me well, that is when they wouldn't just hang up on me.  Finally all of my battery power on our phones gave up and we went to the room to begin using their phones.

You would have to be insane to stay at this property.  If you have any glitch at all, then you are totally at the mercy of the people that will have no compunction to lie to anyone contacting them about your problem.

Check In

The hotel had no running water at 3 pm on a Sunday.  The desk people were telling some arrivals that they had no water and they also failed to mention to some arrivals.  They offered no help except to say that it should be on some time.  I suggested it was illegal to check people into an unsanitary environment and they offered to come and pour water in the toilet so you can use it again.  I would say check in staff is a joke and need significant training.

Room

The room had no running water.

Service

The only service that we tried to exercise was the acquisiton of ice but the servers were so overwhelmed with guests needing water that they couldn't really help.

Overall

You will regret booking this hotel.

Overall, the people that work here should not be in the hospitality business. They have no problem lying to people and to other people that called them in my behalf.  They would just continually tell them that it would be on in 30 minutes, just like the airlines do when they start the 10 minute delay shuffle.

This leaves me in a bind because I have too many Marriott points to just throw them away, and the same problem with Chase Ultimate Rewards because they were of zero help in the problem even though I had booked the hotel them their program.

In case anyone expects differently, the overall Marriott help desk will do nothing more than call the hotel and then repeat what they say to you.  In this case, they lied to that person and apparently their hands are tied.

Overall, this hotel does not care about anything except the money and your comfort, health, satisfaction means nothing.

Further, I can't understand why it is significant that the room was paid for by a third party.  If this property holds themselves out as providing a room for a given price, how can it matter where the funds come from?  Be advised that Chase Ultimate Rewards uses priceline for your hotel bookings and we all know what happens when a third party gets involved.  Fingers pointing in all directions.
