Check In

Points only stay arrived about 19:30 and check in took only a minute or so, explained room upgrade, exec lounge etc.

Transfer to and from the airport by Taxi is interesting and a potential for extortion, I will cover separately to the review my experiences!

Check out also quite quick and no issues, bags can be left if you plan on doing some sightseeing before leaving the city.

Room

Upgraded on morning of arrival from King Room to King Junior Suite.

Second floor room facing a side street, window in bedroom had small balcony but both windows locked. Sign said contact reception to get unlocked.

Didn’t get the option to check in online, but rooms closest to the lift get a view of the main square / Athenaeum rather than a side street.

Welcome gift in room was a bit bizarre but a nice touch. we got a bag of rice and dried mushrooms with a recipe from the chef for a rissotto!

Large bed and was very comfortable.

Two identical large TV’s one in bedroom area and one in lounge area. Only downside was the single remote switched both TV’s and when you switched one off, you switched the other on!

Rooms have a kettle and also a coffee machine that takes pods, which also get replenished whenever housekeeping come into the room.

5-night stay and on first 3 nights 2 x still water and 2 x sparkling water left in room, nights 4 and 5 one bottle of each.

Bathroom decent size with shower over bath and large marble sink.

Housekeeping do turn down service early evening and inthe evening switch on the radio.

Service

Service seemd very good throughout and staff really seem to want to provide good service.

Dining

Only used the restaurant for breakfast, which was very good and a large choice, breakfast runs until 10:00 unless you are a Russian and then turn up after 10:00 surprised to find a rule being enforced!

When you arrive, and are welcomed, if you get the person holding the iPad, they identify you as a Hilton Honors member and place a ticket on the table.   The waitress will then give you a freshly squeezed juice and a bag of special granola, we managed to accumulate about half a dozen.

Prices for the two restaurants seemed higher than outside of the Hotel, but cheaper than elsewhere in Europe. A burger and fries was about 60 LEI, two glasses of house red were 36 LEI in the bar.

Exec lounge was excellent and seemed to have beer and wine available from 18:00 until quite late. Very nice, if narrow balcony with good views.IMG_1532[1].JPGIMG_1533[1].JPGIMG_1534[1].JPG

Location

Excellent location in walking distance to the old town area and on a main road leading downtown.

Overall

Would definitely chose again.
