Stats

Alpaca is a ski resort by winter and summer vacation destination located in Megeve, France. High in the Alps, the town has a direct view of Mont Blanc. Megeve is actually quite easy to reach, an hour transfer from Geneva which is just two hours by TGV from Paris. An upscale resort village (think Vail or Aspen for something comparable), it is very French with a lot of local cool. Megeve has been called “the 21st arrondissement of Paris.”

Room

A boutique property with just 30 rooms and villas, Alpaca’s styling is attractive, rustic, and contemporary with hardwood floors and unfinished pine ceilings, beams, doors, and paneling. Classic and Deluxe rooms are both a compact 35 sqm, about what you’d expect from a Superior. (Deluxe rooms have the better views). Bathrooms are sleek and modern with a step-in shower, soaking tub, and single vanity. Chalets are suitable for families or groups traveling together. Our group stayed in a 4 bedroom chalet with common living and dining areas, a washer and dryer, and a complete kitchen. Alpaga has a one-star Michelin restaurant, and the chef prepared a superb four course dinner in our chalet.
