Check In

Rooms are generally available at 14:00. 

I arrived at the hotel at 13:30, 30 minutes from where rooms would be available.  The staff was very nice and had a bit of chat with me.  Quickly after that I was told that my room was already available.  The staff showed me the map of the entire hotel resort and the attractions nearby.  Very good check in expereicne overall. 

Room

The room is located at the far end of the block so its away from all the crowd and noise.  The room itself is kind of old but still its neat and tidy. 

The bathroom is on the left on the entrance and its stocked with showering needs, i.e. showering gel, body lotion, conditioner and shampoo.  The showering area is a bathtub, but is also equiped with a shower. 

On the other side of the room is a wardrobe which is stocked with instant coffee, teabags, sugar and milk in the fridge.  However, slippers are not provided in this room, which I think shouldn't be the case given that I'm staying in a 'proper' hotel.  IMG_8549.jpgIMG_8550.jpg

Then 2 single beds were waiting in front of me.  The bed was comfortbale and soft (I prefer soft over hard bed).  In front of the bed was as large HD TV; nothing much to comment on the TV.  

he room also has a balcony with a pool view which I didn't use coz you'll be basically sharing the area with other guests living in the other rooms.

Service

I stayed here for only 1 night so I couldn't really comment on the service.  However, because I've ordered room service, guess I'll be able to give some opinions.  I've ordered chips in dipped in aioli and a glass of beer.  It was reasonably priced and service was quick.  I'm satisfied overall.  You can also order online by scanning the barcode in the room which is just next to the bed.  You'll pay during check out.  IMG_8552.jpg

 

Location

The hotel is conveniently located near the esplanade.  There are a few good restaurants and bars nearby so you'll be able to get some good drinks at night.

Dining

There's a bar which is located next to the lobby, you can order drinks and coffee from there but its not always open.  There's a restaurant next to it which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.  If you want to enjoy the sun while drinking, there's a pool side bar just part the bar in the lobby.  The room service I mentioned above tasted nice and was hot when it arrived, so a thumbs up to the good service.

Overall

Overall a nice experience: friendly staff, good service and comfortble stay.  However, I'd say certain things are outdated: room design, bathroom and amenities.  But given that most hotels in this area have similar standards, I'd say its acceptable.
