I booked a Premium Grand Executive Suite at the HR and was rather wowed, something I didn't think I would ever say as a HR!
The hotel is moden and extremely well designed. The hotel itself is iconic with its Silver, reflective event space and bar and gorgeous common areas.
Check In
Check in took a little time as the front desk agent had a few tries to get English correct. Given my basic German, we managed to make it work. I do not travel the World expecting everyone to speak English.
Room
We walked into the room and were wowed by it's design, size and views.
A sleek Black suite had a massive living room table, a separate living area and a bedroom in the corner. The room has 180 degree views of Dusseldorf including the TV Tower (which became a theme of our German hotel suites).
The room was comfortable to spend a few days in when we didn't feel like sightseeing. The room had electric shutters to completely block out the light, but we kept most of them open as the views were stunning during day and night time.
Dining
Breakfast was high quality, however we noted coffee isn't something German hotels do well.
The Regency Club was in a small room next to Vox featuring a hot soup, cold cuts, salads and some desserts. To drink were Red, White Wine and mixers for an Aperol Spritz. It was disappointing not have Vodka or Scotch. Perhaps many of us are spoiled by lounges in Australiasia or the Middle East.
We decided to checkout the Club Lounge and it was an enormous beautiful space and shame it isn't being utilised. Club guests, can still access it and have their drinks and coffee there all day.
Overall
Overall, this is a solid hotel and would definitey returned.
