Stats

I stayed at paris for an event. It was decent enough, though the stay was not without its hiccups. I was actually supposed to be across the street at Caesars Palace, but there was some sanfu with the reservations, and, not being able to get the same quality room, I decided to move to the Paris to try it out, as I've never stayed there in the past.

The first room had a not so great view, but after talking to my host in the morning, they straightened it out, I moved rooms to the other side of the tower with in my opinion a much better view, although the room was the same type, so it's equally as small.

This was the first room's view1_signal-2023-01-13-185124_003.jpeg

...and this is the second room's, taken around the same time the second night.

Check In

Check-in at the Paris was extraordinarly busy. Caesars seem to constantly understaff the check-in areas of all their Las Vegas properties, and Paris is no exception. I've heard horror stories of parties waiting upwards of 2 hours just to check in. Fortunately, being a diamond member allows you to use the private diamond check-in towards the back of the lobby, which significantly cuts down the check-in time.

Room

The room offered to me was a normal burgandy room, which turned out to be very small. The amenities are fairly decent, there is a safe, and it's quiet enough to not hear the neighbours too much. 1_signal-2023-01-13-185124_002.jpeg

Service

I have to make a note about the service. Housekeeping skipped my room two out of the four nights that I was at the Paris, and I suspect that they would have skipped me the first night also if I had not needed to switch rooms. It is a little ridiculous that you had to speak to the front desk twice about missed housekeeping, as this is the most basic of amenities you expect, even at a sawdust joint, much less the Paris. I complained to the hotel staff and they were kind enough to offer a food and beverage credit.

Location

The Paris is located centre strip, right across from the Bellagio fountains, close to the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and a block away from the Linq promenade and Ellis Island, a hidden away locals brewery and casino that took me by surprise, review to come later.

Gambling

Being a hotel and casino, I have to include a section about the gaming floor. It's smoky - more so than Planet Hollywood, probably because the ceilings are so low. The legs of the Eiffel Tower protrude through the ceiling into the floor, which is pretty cool.

I won't comment on the slots as I am not a machine player, but if you like Video poker, there used to be great machines in the champagne slots area, but as I haven't been back this year (2022) I cannot guarantee that they are still there.

As for table games, all the usual suspects are accounted for. Minimums seem to vary between 10$ and 25$ depending on time of day and how busy the floor is. If you are on a budget, I suggest you gamble during the day to stretch your gambling dollar. Blackjack across the floor is 6-to-5, even the gimmicky games (ones with additional rules, e.g. Free Bet Blackjack) are 6-5, and as such, they should be avoided like the plague. If you are itching for some blackjack action, though, there is a higher-limit "salon des tables" area for table games that include 3-2 blackjack at 50$ minimums or higher.

Craps minimum 15$, field pays double on 2 and 12, strip odds. Dealers are fairly competent.
