Ocean front suite with private pool

6 nights Dec 6-12 with the SEA sale for $132/nt with 25% off F&B.  Upgraded from ocean view to ocean suite with private pool.

Check In

Friendly and prompt.  Was concerned that they upgraded me and the app changed to double the price and no mention of food discount.  They assured me it would be the original terms and price but at check out no discount and took 30 minutes and showing them a screen shot of the original to get it corrected. Was taken to suite and given a tour.

Room

Big.  Website has it listed as 2000 sq ft ubt probably includes the entry and pool area.  Some lack of attention to detail - TV is on bracket that can rotate but the coaxial cable limits the range.  Have to walk through the entry to get to the bathroom.  They use glass bottles that are refilled for water saving on the plastic.  Pool is nice size of about 15 x 35 feet.  Pretty private but people can walk by on the beach or the artificial beach by the pool.

Overall was very nice but wish they hadn't made these as duplex units.  The doors to the bedroom and bath self close but don't latch requiring a pull to close them.  This causes noise that echos in the entry and into the sleeping area.

Service

Everyone was friendly and helpful almost to the point of being annoying especially at breakfast.  The occupancy was low and I think a couple days only 3-4 people here.

You also have to sign for everything including the free breakfast, free drinks, free soda.  A bit irritating and unnecessary.

Dining

First couple days breakfast was menu based and as more guests arrived it was a buffet.  Decent but not something I'd pay $16usd for.

Had three other dishes - seafood soup, hamburger, chicken alfredo.  All average and I wouldn't make this a main food destination.

One place that has outstanding food is the 3 pots about 1km towards the airport.  Ate there many times.  One thing to note is BBQ doesn't start until 600pm.  I went for lunch and ordered bbq octopus that clearly was not cooked over coals or wood.  Spoke with the owner and he appologized and invited me the next night where I had an outstan

Location

I thought the location was fine.  Beach is rocky but can swim with the tide out.  Free bicycles to use which I did to go to the store or sandy b

Overall

With the upgrade I'd put it in my top 10 Hilton branded properties and at $132/nt the value was exceptional.

The last 2 days there was a Chinese tour group that changed the flavor of the resort significantly.  I'm not sure the frequency of tour groups.

They are really pushing trip advisor reviews and I was asked by 4 people the first 2 days to write positive reviews for them.  Looking at TA there are a number of first time posters giving it great reviews.  Bit of self promotion I think.

Diamond benefits:  Upgrade, free breakfast, all day free sodas/water, free well drinks 5-7pm and a snack that usually tasted bad and probably made from breakfast left overs.  Beautif
