As somebody who has to travel to SA for personal reasons several times a year, I find it wild that Cape Town is now one of the most routes. In Economy, only Tokyo and Sydney are more expensive. PE is now over £1,600 - only Sydney is more expensive in 2024. Even 12 months ago these prices were perhaps 20% lower so this isn’t just post-pandemic pricing. International tourism levels have returned to near pre-pandemic levels. What is the justification? I’d love to understand.
