I arrived into Funchal yesterday after a superbly smooth flight and a very enjoyable rocky/rolly approach (note my use of the technical term) and gentle touchdown. Looking at FR24 I noted that todays BA520 did this before it came in. Just curious to know what might have been the reason. It was a little windy I might add so guess it may have been a short holding pattern. Also, do planes ever land from the east. I’ve been here a few times and have never seen one landing other than from the west.
