As far as the Hyatt match going away according to MGMs site it isn't being eliminatedWill MGM Rewards continue to match tier status with World of Hyatt?
  • Yes, there are no changes to this great benefit with our strategic loyalty relationship with Hyatt. MGM Rewards will continue to match World of Hyatt tier status.
So the rewards club people were wrong, it is only stopping matching as far as other programs go? Hyatt will now be the only path?

I am wyndham diamond via the merry go round and don't hold the business card, submitted 3? Weeks ago, I got impatient, messaged wyndham to match and was denied as my status was via match and not earned, I accidentally clicked on the caesars app and saw I am now diamond.

I managed caesars diamond status without headache from wyndham business. But I can't tell that carnival accepted my caesars diamond match to their program for promotions on cruises. Should my carnival account show a higher status or will i just get offers eventually while at the basic tier.

Carnival cruise offers for Diamond

In all it took me 1.5 hours to do all the tier matches which I was extremely surprised that it only took that long. Immediately filled out carnival players club fun match program and hope to get an offer for a comped cruise.

MGM was the one I was worried about but I got the manager on duty and she tier matched me without any problems at all. Hopefully this helps others.

Also my caesars diamond status expired 01/23 which was a little annoying.
Adding a data point regarding Carnival Players Club fun match. I did the status match after signing up for the Carnival Players Club. Gave them my Caesar's Diamond (matched with Wyndham) card for the match. A week later, started receiving cruise offers, which steadily became better over time. By the 2nd week, I finally got a great offer for pretty much any cruise on any sailing for $100 per person. I highly recommend anyone with a Caesar's card putting in for the match. FYI - Even though I did the status match and got those great cruise offers, it still shows me in the lowest tier of the Carnival Players Club program. So, if you do the match, be patient, fill out your profile information, and wait for the best offers to roll in.

Do you have any knowledge on whether MGM Gold or Caesar's Diamond works better?

On paper they're about the same. Caesars has more low end properties so it's easier to get cheaper rooms or comps IMO. However flyer4512 said Caesars has tightened up on comps so I'm not totally sure.
A good question to research on VegasMessageBoard

Carnival Status Match - MGM or Caesar's

While I don't have any personal experience matching with MGM Gold, here's a blog post that discusses their offers when they matched Carnival to MGM. They basically got the same offer that I got matching with Caesar's Diamond ($100 per person, plus $100 per person onboard spending allowance).

Pretty good deal. I suspect that the first batch of offers from Carnival will be your best and then the offers will adjust after they evaluate your play on the cruise.

Using free Atlantis stay in Feburary?

Hoping someone can help with a question I haven't seen answered in any of the writeups I've seen about the free Atlantis stay using Caesar diamond status.

I matched from Wyndham after getting Diamond on Wyndham by having their Business Earner card. That gives me Diamond at Caesars until Jan 31, 2024. But I'd like to do the free trip in Februrary of 2024. Since I'll still have the Business Earner card, I'll still have Diamond status with Wyndham, and I don't need to do the merry-go-round that doesn't work anymore for the Wyndham status. But will my Caesar's status automatically stay Diamond since I'm still diamond with Wyndham, or do I need to re-match to Caesars? And if I need to re-match, do I have to wait until Feb 1 or can I do it anytime after Jan 1, even though I'm already Diamond with Caesars from Jan 1-Feb 1?

Trying to avoid booking a trip for early Feb, then losing diamond status on Feb 1, then having my free trip not allowed because it takes too long to re-match to my diamond Wyndham status again after Caesars downgrades me.

Anyone have any experience with this or know how it works? Thanks!

The thing is that we were speculating in January 2023 whether the match from Wyndham would still work. It's very possible they kill it for 2024.
In 2023 my status dropped back to Gold. If I remember correctly I had to do the status match and wait for a few weeks for it to work.

I would highly advise doing the trip in January 2024 or sooner.

As of 5/25/23 it says on the Caesars site they will still status match.

Hmm. I thought the thing they're doing away with it matching status for people who's status has been matched from elsewhere. So no merry-go-round with Caesars, for example, and potentially no match if your Wyndham status came from a match with somewhere else. But everything I'd seen was that a Caesar's rep had confirmed that status earned through Wyndham directly (including through the Wyndham credit card) would continue to count and be matchable. Is that not the case?

Thanks. So back to the original question then, assuming they don't change things between now and next February, how do I go about making sure I still have diamond status for a Feb trip? Does anyone know if I can re-up my diamond status in January, prior to my 2023 match expiring at the end of Jan?

It's currently matchable right now.

MGM ended status matching from other casinos, giving notice Jan 31 2023 and expiration July 31 2023.

Caesars could do the same, there is a long time until Jan of next year

Not sure how that works if your trip is in early February. You could try matching the status in January and see what happens. I always do the match in early february and it usually only takes a couple days but this year it took almost two weeks. I'm not sure if the total rewards desk could help you out or not since they can't verify how you received your Wyndham status.

I'm assuming the reason it took a couple weeks this time is because instead of just instantly doing the match based on your status like with MGM/Hyatt there are some additional steps involved to make sure you didn't get the status through a match.
