Stay Report - 8/19 - 8/20

Location: The hotel is located on the Embarcadero aka Harbor Drive just south of Ash. It's an easy two block walk to the Santa Fe Depot (downtown San Diego Amtrak Station), the trolley, ferries to Coronado, the Star of India, The USS Midway and not too far from the Gaslamp District. It's also very easy to get an Uber from here and SAN is maybe 2 miles away.

Hotel: The hotel is a collection of two buildings, an older three story type motel building and a larger high rise. They're connected by a large lobby which has a Claim Jumper restaurant in it as well as a coffee shop, an incredibly overpriced sundry store and some meeting space. There's also an outdoor pool and a shuttle.

Check In: We have no status and were on an award stay but luckily were able to check in at 11 AM. The agent was very helpful and friendly too and even found my companion some toothpaste after he'd finished his

Room: A little run down but overall pretty good. The only main complaint is the bathroom is small and hidden behind a sliding door right next to one of the beds. There were also no outlets near the bed. Having a balcony was a nice treat though as was the views of planes landing at SAN and the trains coming into the train station.

This was an award stay and it was better than I expected. For a base of operations for a San Diego trip involving downtown and Coronado it's really good. I'd be back.
