So I'm confused--you did or did not book this nice suite with points?
The only chances I've had to get 4c per point or better is with Go Fast awards before they recently devaluled them. Would love to get that now.

If the premium queen suite isn't available on your dates, I'd recommend booking any suite over a regular room and asking for an upgrade a check-in.

Thanks for clarifying Billy. IMO you got a great deal.
There are no suites available with points during my dates, alas.

Does the 30K point option, cover the $33+ daily Resort Fee & Taxes?
What is going on with NYC properties?

Last time I had people staying on a free night award using Wyndham points at its big hotel by Penn Station, the hotel itself applied the daily “resort” fee. But this was for a stay prior to 2020.

Anyone stayed at the New Yorker in recent times? Doesn't seem like you can book into the suites anymore on points, but there is availability so wondering if they'll upgrade (looking at this Saturday and I am a diamond). Trying to decide between this hotel and the Garden Chinatown. I know they're completely different parts of town, but it's a staycation for me so would prefer the better hotel/experience.

Trying to find a decent Wyndham reward property within the Boundaries of New York City for 15,000 points, I found the Wyndham Garden La Guardia South hotel in Rego Park Queens.
Its not near La Guardia but it is next to a MTA bus that will take you there (Q72) and a few steps away from the Woodhaven Blvd subway stop on the R train.
Better than most NYC LaQuinta's and Days Inn but not up to the standards of a Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn.
No restaurant no Breakfast but next door to a Starbucks and Burger King. Walking distance to a large mall and shopping center, and many restaurants.
Hotel has only 50 rooms and an elevator that breaks down frequently. Rooms are on the third floor and fourth floor. Second floor is a gym (not through the hotel) so if you are in the third floor expect to hear banging.
Room numbers 2 - 16 are tiny, Premium rooms are 19 - 26.
Positive: Very helpful staff.
