1000 points expiring
 

Can't gift them, can't transfer them. About to expire. Anything I can do aside from donating to charity? :(:(

Somebody in the Wyndham thread mentioned that if you have another wyndham account and merge them, it will extend the expiration date. So you need a new account with points.

You can buy 2000 points for US$22, then use all 3000 for a Go Fast night! Plus IIRC the purchase will extend the life of your existing 1000 points.

Which kind of expiring? :confused:

WR has two types of expiration:

1. Soft expiration after 18 months of inactivity. If that's the kind of expiration you have, all you need is activity to reset it for another 18 months.
2. Hard expiration after 4 years. If that's the kind of expiration you have, you have to use them or lose them.

But 1000 WR points are hardly worth anything in and of themselves. They've 1/3 of what you need for "cash + points" one-night stay, and 1/15 of what you need for a totally free stay, and 1/6 of what you need to transfer to (a small number of) airline miles.

1000 points is what you earn for a cheap one-night stay. So that's why it's not worth very much by itself.
