Good news. I need to be thinking about how to take advantage of this.
Doctor of Credit blogged about this on June 4th. Apparently there is a Comenity Bank credit card that can get Total Rewards Platinum status. (Status Match) Helpful to those of us carrying the old version Wyndham credit card, which does not give Wyndham Status, but does offer other benefits.

Just approved for Wyndham CC

Just got approved for the credit card that gives Platinum status--I have a Vegas trip in about 6 weeks--how long before my Wyndham rewards status changes to Platinum? --honestly the only reason I got this card.

Most of the benefits seem to be coming later this summer, if your staying at a Caesars property you can probably get something on your next stay

Caesars Entertainment Group Partnership FAQs
Why is Wyndham Rewards partnering with Caesars Entertainment and its loyalty program, Total Rewards?Wyndham Rewards has partnered with Caesars Entertainment to provide members with a host of new magical perks and exciting, world-class destinations. Total Rewards is the world’s leading casino and entertainment loyalty program. With nearly 30 resorts across the U.S. and Canada to choose from, Wyndham Rewards members can soon benefit from more places to earn and redeem Wyndham Rewards points, in addition to other exciting member perks.
How does this benefit me?Starting June 5, 2017, eligible Platinum and Diamond members of both the Wyndham Rewards and Total Rewards programs may apply for a Status Match in the reciprocal program — Platinum to Platinum, Diamond to Diamond — while Total Rewards Seven Stars® members may apply for a Wyndham Rewards Diamond Member Level Status Match.

In addition to Status Match, Wyndham Rewards members will also receive exciting new perks, expected to launch later this summer, including: the ability to earn Wyndham Rewards points for qualified stays and redeem points for award nights at Total Rewards destinations in the U.S. and Canada, and the ability to transfer points between the two programs on an annual basis.

It generally only take a day or two from the time of your Barclay's credit card approval to the time your Wyndham Rewards account reflect Platinum status.

The website to link the account to match status is frustrating. I am Platinum in Total Rewards so tried to match my status with Wyndham. I'm in Canada, and the Wyndham matching screen has a field for "Zip Code / Postal Code". I enter my Canadian Postal Code, and I get the error "please enter a valid Zip Code". If I try entering a dummy Zip Code, I get an error that it does not match my records.

I will try calling WR to get the status match, but it would be nice if the website worked for Canadians!

I was approved Friday and as of today ( Tuesday night) I am still showing Blue Status.

I am in know hurry for status so just a DP

EDIT, Wyndham card arrived today, activated and still show Blue Status

EDIT again, disregard my timeline as even though I entered my Wyndham number on my application for some reason Barclay issue me a new Wyndham number so I now have to merge the accounts

It looks like as of today I've been dropped to Blue and the status match form on Total Rewards is erroring out. Anyone get this to work to be back to Diamond again?

DaveH Jan 3, 2018 1:13 pm

Mine was erroring out Jan 1 and 2. Just worked now, and I status matched successfully.

Just redeemed 15k wyndham points for a free night at Harvey's in Tahoe. Thought i'd never make use of this partnership...but there you go! $215 room rate.

Note: you do still have to pay the "resort fees". It was $29 for me. The website was very clear about this though, so i don't feel like it was a hidden charge. Quite happy.

Diamonds and Seven Starts Caesars members are exempt from resort fees, at least if you book through TotalRewards. I wonder if they waive them when you book through Diamond?

I was looking thru the perks on the TotalRewards website. I would assume that Platinum status with Wyndham Rewards would match to Platinum status with TotalRewards. Correct?

This particular benefit stood out to me: Complimentary stay at Atlantis, Paradise Island in The Bahamas. 3 free nights & Atlantis Casino Experience Pass ( Shallow Water Dolphin Interaction for One, Round of Golf for One, Sushi and Sake Sampler Platter at Nobu, Two Cocktails at Olives, Two Cocktails at Seafire Steakhouse.) if done during off-peak time.
Just to see the pricing I put in reservation for random 3 nights in March, and added on the shallow water dolphin interaction and round of golf....came to over $1400 with taxes.

Wondering if anyone has status matched and then took advantage of said offer? What was your experience like? Interested in knowing more from anyone who has details they'd like to share!

Bahama complimentary stay?

I saw that too and am very interested in more info if you (or anyone else) get it first.

thx.
