Ridiculously awesome redemption

I recently booked a go fast award for one of the better Wyndham properties out there, and got an effective value (when comparing to the equivalent refundable rate for the same dates) of about 5 cents/point.

I'm kind of feeling bad for the property, as it's high demand dates and they're probably losing on significant revenue due to me.

Any idea how the properties are getting compensated by the program for such awards? Is it anything like with IHG where if the property is at over 90% capacity then the compensation if much closer to the regular rate?

You could tell us which property? I'm looking for an awesome redemption and having a hard time finding a fantastic property.

Are you sure on the go fast with the NewYorker? I recently did a go free option there but didn't see an option for go fast.

I think you're right. The go free was at the Wingate in Manhattan

The TRYP is a great redemption, especially since you can get a room with two queens for 15k.

A hotel brand owned by Wyndham. Typically, you have to call to redeem points at Tryp hotels, since they haven't been added to the website yet for point redemption.

They charge a daily "resort fee" (by some name or another) on award nights too. Just something to keep in mind about the hotel's money grab on "Go Free" nights.

+1

We really liked our stay at the Tryp in NYC - though I haven't stayed at any other Wyndham hotels in NYC to compare...
