Up to 4x Points or Miles Feb 3-April 30, 2011
Wyndham Rewards new promotion starts today February 3 through April 30, 2011.
Earn 2x points or miles on 2nd stay. Earn 3x points or miles on 3rd stay. Earn 4x points or miles on 4th stay.
Promotion stay must be completed by May 7, 2011 for credit.
Earn an additional 1,000 points per stay when you use Wyndham Rewards Visa Card.
Registration required.
Nice offer if you can plan stays to maximize earning points or miles. The rules indicate this offer is just 4x points or miles only for the 4th stay. This is not like some promotions in the past year where the 4x points applied to all stays retroactively.
The bonus is only applicable to 2nd, 3rd and 4th stays for 2x, 3x and 4x points. There are no additional bonuses beyond four stays during promotion period.

I'm registered for this 4x promo and am booking my fourth-of-four stays this week. Should I stay longer than planned just to take advantage of the 4x bonus? How valuable is this quadruple opportunity? Is it worth shelling out extra cash for the points in your opinion (and the mild enjoyment of a longer stay)? I can afford extending the stay but don't "need" to. What's your instinct?

I don't think any time that any hotel program offers only a multiplier that you earn enough to justify a "mattress run" (whether an actual run, or just extending a stay "unnecessarily"). It's when hotels offer big flat bonuses even for cheap one-night stays that sometimes it can "pay" to do extra (unnecessary) cheap stays if you get extra big flat bonuses. (But the flat bonus has to be enough to pay for a nights at more-expensive-with-dollars properties you're actually going to stay at, for it work even then.)
Without knowing actual redemption rates, I can tell you that it's considered a typical metric if a points program gives you about 1 free night for every 10 free nights. Well, consider that multiplying the earnings by 4 only changes that to 1 free night for every 2.5 free nights, it doesn't make you get more free nights than paid free nights. Which is why it rarely, if ever, makes sense to do unnecessary stays or night during only a "multiplier" bonus (like 4x).

Just finished my 4th stay. Some bonus miles (points) already posted to my Southwest Rapid Rewards account. Is turning out to be a very convenient way to round out my existing credits to redeem for my last standard award. Previously, I have never had a problem with Wyndham miles & bonuses posting to DL, NW or AA.
I decided this was the best way to utilize my Wyndham account for some needed 1 night stays on biz trips. Probably wouldn't have made a point of doing it if it was just to get miles in my other airline accounts, since I'm more concerned right now about maintaining airline status than getting more miles.
But for a casual traveler, this promo is probably a good way to top of an account to get a usable award ticket quicker.

I just signed up for Wyndham Rewards. Sad to find 4x promo has just finished yesterday. Would have been great to earn 4,000 BD miles per stay. Will keep my eyes open for the new promos in the future.

More promos around the corner. But rest assured, you didn't miss what you appear to think: It wasn't as generous as 4,000 miles per stay; it was 2x for second stay, 3x for third, and 4x only for the fourth stay. Sneaky sneaky Wyndham! Well, nothing sneaky at all; just not as generous as, say, a theoretical 10x bonus. Ooo there's an idea. Ahem.

There is currently a temporary delay in posting points/miles. Please allow about three weeks after your check out date for your miles to post. At that time, if you still have any troubles with your miles posting, please send an email to [email protected] with your member # and details on your stay. Thank you for your patience!
