Anatomie Clothing?
 

I searched (in this forum and in Travel Products) and didn't get any hits, so I had to start a new thread. Gee I hate that. Does anyone have experience with Anatomie clothing?https://www.anatomiewear.com/

I'm specifically looking at some of their pants for travel. The reviews I've found online have been good, but they've also been bloggers to whom Anatomie sent clothing to sample (hey, at least they disclosed that info ^)

I don't like to travel in jeans or leggings. (heck, I don't wear leggings in public ever, so....) I want a nice looking & versatile pair of pants that is water resistant (and quick drying), wrinkle resistant, and just generally good for sitting in airplanes for a long time or walking miles and miles around a city. I have sports-oriented clothing that fits the bill for water resistance and comfort in airplanes, but, well, is "sporty" and not suitable for all the travel I do.

Their clothing isn't cheap. If it does hold up well over time and do the other things the reviews say, it's probably worth it (I don't have a problem with spending the money if it's good value....) Thanks for any reviews!

Other pants I'm looking at are from Outlier - someone on the Travel Products board recommended that brand last year when my husband was looking for water resistant trousers for travel and he bought a pair he loves. I checked out their website and they have a couple of nice options for women too^

If you're in the typical height range for catalog models (5'7" to 5'10"?) the pants should at least have an acceptable rise and the knee break in roughly the right area. Whether the rear, hips, and thigh areas will be comfy and flattering, of course, is the big question for us women shopping for pants. Sigh.

Anatomie has a well designed site. They're funny, too. Their 30 day no questions asked returned policy lists among possible reasons a buyer might want to return an item:
"Maybe it made you look so smokin’ hot that your significant other is getting jealous from all the stares you are getting"

I actually don't consider their prices high, IF their clothing does what they say it will. Consider this testimonial:
"I have washed these pants at least a 100 times and they still look brand new. I can buy a new top and they match perfectly with these 5 year old Anatomie pants, because the fabric color, feel, and look are the same as the day I bought them."

I don't see how that's possible without using mostly synthetic fibers, can you? I can't find precise fiber content info. They describe the Monika dress, for example, as a cotton jersey dress, but whether it has lycra or anything else is unclear. That dress, by the way, looks like it requires shapewear. That's not travel friendly.

A few tiny shops in my area carry Anatomie. I'll try on whatever I can find and report back on fiber content. Anatomie doesn't have petite sizes, so I doubt their pants or skirts will fit me. I wouldn't buy their skirts or dresses for travel anyway because they lack pockets. That is definitely not travel friendly.

Considering I buy my Talbots & Brooks Bros pants at thrift stores or the outlets or shop at TJ Maxx & Nordstrom Rack, spending $200 on a new pair of pants is quite an outlay for me. Logically it's true - if I wear the pants all the time and they hold up well, the cost per wear is great and that's a metric I value. But I still have to get over that emotional hump of spending the money:p

Any update on these Anatomie pants, did ya try them? Curious as I am 5'8", looking for something travel-friendly/fashionable for long-term travel. You mentioned about the rise/etc being ok if we were in that ballpark (I'm size 2-6 depending on brand). Also it's often hard for me to find decent pants of a decent length (I need about 33 inch inseam)

The seams on those Outliers on the rear look atrocious, I wouldn't ever wear those. Too bad since the overall slim cut looks pretty nice. I did see a review by one of the bloggers that her Anatomie pants were good even in snow...that's the sort of thing I'm looking for in terms of versatility. Unfortunately that blogger is a really curvy and shorter woman so I don't know about fit for me.

The Outlier dungarees, however, ARE interesting to me. Did anyone try those?

I opted for some cheaper options this past year - Columbia pant that is boot cut (I'd prefer skinny or straight but they were a great deal on sale at an outlet) and some Mountain Hardwear styles on sale at Sierra Trading Post.

I still drool over the Outlier clothing because I was silly enough to sign up for their emails & like their facebook page ;-)

How's the length on the pants you got- I always struggle to have pants long enough. Need 33" inseam which the Outliers do have. I've tried columbia before and they always were short.

I need ~29" inseam (really depends on the rise too) so the Columbia are a titch long but not close to 33". Looks like they come in a long - website says that's 34 1/2. I bought at the outlet and don't remember a long. The Mountain Hardwear pants fit oddly - I had one pair that is 12X32 and the other is 10X30 and both fit, though I do need to hem the 32 a little. Doesn't look like they come in a tall though :-(
