Welcome to FT!

I don't know a thing about that Georgia, but you might do better posting this in the Asia forum in FT's Destinations section. People who have useful information are far more likely to see it there than in this forum, which is devoted to gatherings, meet-ups and other social aspects of FT.

Enjoy your trip. Some of my most enjoyable trips have been to places that, like Georgia, are a bit off the usual tourist routes.

Welcome to FT!

There are two ways I can move this - I think we'll try to the Women's forum first of all.

A lot of women have travelled alone in eastern Europe, Western Asia and came home safe. Don't know what happened to that lady who never made it home last week in Turkey, but always be on the lookout.

I'd add "Georgia" to your post title, and ask a moderator to move this to the "Europe" forum. Maybe you can find something helpful here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/searc...rchid=15628313

I know it's not Europe but I traveled to Thailand alone and I'd feel comfortable going most places. You just have to follow the simple basic rules you'd follow in the U.S.

Maybe you shouldn't travel alone if you think it's sad. Welcome to Flyertalk.

I've been to Tbilisi and had an absolutely wonderful time. I did meet up with a friend from college, but for the most part I was wandering about by myself and I always felt safe. The typical 'rules' for females traveling solo apply to every country.

If you have a tour guide, you should be even better off than I was. Enjoy! Eat lots of khachapuri.

I put rules in quotation marks because it's not quite the right word, but feel free to browse the forum for travel tips. Here's a few threads:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/women...ips-women.html
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/women...vel-guide.html
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/women...ho-travel.html

Relatedly, the scams thread (in TravelBuzz, I think) is always a good read for travelers of all genders.
