Does anyone actually believe in Wings anymore ?
Well does anyone ?

Many birds, bats and certain insects seem to believe in wings.

OK - I meant the Wings Alliance |
I would be really interested in the reasons for this but it seems that KL/NW are not further investigating new alliance plans...
Maybe there are just no more possible reliable partners of bigger size out there? So it was just too late? Especially if the markets will grow again in the next years maybe 'wings' will be on the looser side as they don't have enough power to go into addtl. markets anymore while constantly loosing pax to other alliances competing in wings-markets... This has one good side: maybe sometimes somebody will listen to us loyal customers more or offering some good promos... |
Wings Alliance?
I hope it will ever 'start'! But I read a Dutch article about KLM... DL is very interested in KLM and wants them to join their alliance... NWA won't be an obstacle, because they (DL & NWA) do not have the exact same network/routes... The article also stated that the discussions with MH are not that fruitful anymore... So maybe KLM and Alitalia will be united again in SkyTeam! |
As a member in Germany I would really welcome any entry into an alliance which gives some more flight choices out of here. If I want to fly MUC-FCO or DUS-CDG it really doesn't make sense to fly via AMS...

The article also stated that the discussions with MH are not that fruitful anymore... From my recent flights with MH, I noticed MH is not giving any partner preferential treatment. In fact only its own elites are allowed into its lounges... BTW if any of you KLM regulars need some points or segments, there are some good ones in Malaysia, such as Kuching-Sibu and KUL-Ipoh. Kuching-Sibu can be done in C for $60 roundtrip, five times in one day, zone A. The only problem is that it will be the same crew turning around after 35 minutes, and they are not used to the concept of mileage runs http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif [This message has been edited by monahos (edited 05-08-2002).] |
I think even in Europe its still a strange concept !
