WestJet 5% promo code

Hi FTers,

Well, it's not much, but 5% > 0%. ;)

Promo code: WJCIS05. Must be claimed no later than 15 July 2009. Valid for return travel until 12 December 2009. Blackout periods [not indicated] apply. Limited to the first 15,000 redeemers.

This code was being handed out left, right and centre at the Juno Street Show in Vancouver this weekend. There's also a 10% code. I couldn't get the WestJet site to cooperate with me (probably it doesn't like Safari) – and I don't fly WestJet – so I couldn't verify that it works.

Full Ts & Cs on westjet.com under About Us and Sponsorship.

Awesome, thanks Fission. The 5% code worked for a dummy booking I just did.

If anyone knows the 10% promo code, please pm me, or post.

I found this online but haven't tested it: "10% reduction Coupon Code: FFQ0910

Expires: 1st April 2009."

It didn't work when I tried it, but thanks for the effort ;)^
Maybe they had a limited amount of these for use and they've all been use already.

Air Canada discount code

That's funny. I managed to get 10% on WS by just replacing the "5" with a "10".

My cousin in Ontario got discount codes for Air Canada at some Easter event. Apparently you get 10% off domestic travel in Tango with code MQVEFEF1 or 10% off Tango Plus with J3ZUG941. We both tried and it works perfectly (haven't booked anything though). She didn't know anything about travel periods etc.

10% off WJ - also looking for YOW to LAS info

First off ..... thanks linda66 for the WJ promo code. I will be booking my party of 4 to Vegas tommorrow.

Any WJ experts out there can give me any tips or info regarding my YOW to LAS flights. I am connecting through YYz with a 1.5 hr layover. I understand that I will be in terminal 3 and will have to clear US customs after the first flight.

Never flown WJ before.... hope I am making the right choice

Conx in YYZ

Hey Armeee,

You'll have plenty enough time time to connect in YYZ. You will need to claim your bags in YYZ - WestJet will deliver them to the US Immigration and Customs area for you. Don't go to baggage claim - simply follow the signs with the American flags and they'll lead you in the right direction. It's all on the one level, so if it SEEMS like the flags are telling you to go down stairs, they're not... just look to the side and you'll see another teeny tiny USA flag on an exit door showing you the way to go. But again... just follow the American flags!

I trust you'll enjoy our service. We're so proud of our company and I trust it shows.

Confused - baggage pickup on connecting flight to LAS

VancouverGuy,

I am a bit confused.
I have travelled from YOW connecting to US destinations before (not with WJ)
Once I check my bags in YOW I have always collected them at my destination.(USA)

Are you telling me that once I arrive in YYZ that I have to get my checked luggage and re-check them in for my flight to Vegas.

thanks, Armeee

Yes, you'll have to get them from the US-bound baggage belt - you have to have your bags to go through US Customs & Immigration, where you can re-drop them on a bag belt. No lineups at a check-in counter to worry about. You'll have to do the same thing on the way home - collect the bags at the CBSA, and drop them after you've cleared customs at a connecting baggage belt.

Enjoy the trip to Vegas!!

Were you going YOW-YYZ-USA? You should have to collect luggage in YYZ as you have to take it through US prescreening with you and put it on the belt on the other side. I wonder if luggage gets prescreened behind the scenes at airports with US prescreening, meaning only the passenger has to clear US immigration at the connecting airport.

I get:

You have entered an invalid promo code. Please check the code and try again. You may also search for flights without using a promo code.

When I try to use the 10% code.

??

Ron.
