While a missed approach can be somewhat disconcerting...Ie/ the power comes up the gear retracts, the flaps retract and your wondering in the back..what the h*ll, its a perfectly normal procedure and a procedure expected to be executed due to umpteen reasons, loss of visual contact, unstable approach, wind shear and on and on. Not that long ago going into YYZ in a763 right at the last moment before touchdown we went around. The crew is busy but when they had time said the airplane ahead of them didn't clear the runway fast enough...so around they went..I noticed everyone was looking at the FA's to see what their facial expression was..LOL

A Vancouver man faces several charges after an alleged incident on a WestJet flight that took off from Toronto's Pearson airport Friday.

Peel Regional Police, who are responsible for the airport, say Flight 709 bound for Vancouver had to return to Pearson shortly after takeoff because of mechanical issues.

Police say during the return a passenger allegedly became unruly and assaulted a flight attendant and also caused minor internal damage to the plane's bathroom.

WS uses 2 pilots on that route? No wonder they've got union reps crawling everywhere.

Incident: Encore Q400 fills with smoke just before landing.

Saw this on CBC this morning:

Smoke-filled WestJet plane undergoes emergency evacuation in Nanaimo, B.C. - British Columbia - CBC News

Sounds a bit nerve racking. I'm glad everyone's OK. Article has praise for FA's conducting orderly evacuation.

Any particular reason why you didn't post this in the master incidents thread?

"..... No masks dropped down and they just told us to breathe through our clothes."

Because DH8's don't have masks.

Wouldn't want more O2 added to the situation anyways.

Yes, I noticed that comment as well. Can't expect the general sheeple to have any clue about the aircraft type they are flying in....

I don't recall seeing one in the WS forum, since I don't spend as much time here. I know there is one for AC. Mods, feel free to move as necessary.
