WestJet 737-700 seating and boarding

Looking at seat selection Economy 700 series
rows 4 and 5 bulkhead and two behind are a bit more to prebook to MCO. $48 vs $45
is there more room here ? Or do you get to board ahead of the other economy rows ?
Is there an order to boarding on west jet for economy ie back to front ….or exit rows or any other order. I know premium first. Gold ahead of silver etc. but for regular economy seats ? Trying to increase chances of making sure we get overhead space YYZ to MCO
Many thanks in advance

Due to Row 4 being directly behind Premium row 3, there is a bit more leg room, but you will contend with crew coming and going through the curtain at row 3. There is limited underneath seat storage in Row 4 aisle seats. Boarding for economy starts in the back and moves forward so occupants of Row 4 will be in the last zone to board. If you think you may not have room for your carry on items, take advantage of the free gate check (bag will be collected on the carrousel at destination though!) option if offered for your flight! Hope this helps!

That is helpful thanks. We will likely pre book seats towards the rear in this case. If boarding is Back to front

if you prebook an exit row, you will be 1st priority for boarding as well.

Early boarding for exit rows now seems to be very inconsistent — it doesn’t always happen.

The first 2 rows of Economy on the -700 are preferred seating. The first 4 rows of the Economy cabin on the 737- 800/ 737-8 aircraft are Preferred seating. These seats provide additional legroom and are located at the front of the economy cabin, allowing for a quicker exit upon arrival at your destination.

No you do not get to board ahead of anyone with Preferred seats.

There is a boarding order for WS. Boarding is conducted as follows:

1) First, the agents board mobility impaired passengers

2) Second Premium Cabin and relevant top tier Rewards members

3) Third to board is Families and anyone travelling in the Emergency Exit Rows

Then they board the economy zones Back to Front starting with Zone 2 . After that Zone 3 is called.

On the -700 aircraft Zone 2 is typically the last 10 rows of the Economy cabin , Rows 12-23

Zone 3 encompasses the first 10 rows of the Economy cabin, Rows 4-11

On the 737-800 and 737-8 , Zone 2 is typically the last 16 rows of the Economy cabin , Rows 15-30

Zone 3 encompasses the first 11 rows of the Economy Cabin , Rows 4-14

Has been consistent in YYZ, just flew between YYZ and YHZ all week this week and secured Overwing exit seating and boarded as standard with families and small children group.

It's been consistent on my last pair of WS flights.

My May YEG-YYJ outbound is scheduled as a 700 so will likely opt to pay for the emergency exit row seat assignment but should it be subbed out for a Q400 I assume the seat fee which is normally non-ref would be refunded given the aircraft has no exit row seating but is that assumption correct?
