Does my flight still exist?

Hi all. I went online to check if an upcoming flight was any cheaper with today’s sale, but the flight is not showing up. It’s possible that it is sold out but I’d be very surprised a) this far out, b) this route and c) when I booked two weeks ago it was wide open seating (while I know that’s no guarantee it would be odd). Is there somewhere I can see if it has been axed? I’ve not had any email and it’s showing normal (no !) in the app.

WS 561 May 23

thanks!

Which route is that?
The flight number doesn't appear to have been used in the last several years.

What does it say when you view your booking on the website?
It may be that WestJet is in the process of updating its May schedule and your flight is being removed - it can take a few days for the system to process the changes, select an alternative for your journey, send you an email, etc.

Just looks like a totally normal flight booking, no flags / alerts etc.

This looks like the winner. It doesn't come up when searching EF for availability from YYT to YYZ on May 23 (image pasted below within spoiler tag to save space since it's quite long). So, @emma69, I would expect a notice of re-booking from WS pretty soon.
Spoiler

I have a similar issue with WS548 YEG-YUL on May 25. I suspect the start of this new non-stop is delayed. I assume if it is cancelled I would be entitled to a refund since they don’t offer a non -stop to YUL at all….

I checked EF, and same thing for your flight as what I said for the OP.

You should. See this thread: Full Refund vs Credit to Travel Bank amid COVID crisis

Thanks Adam, appreciate it. Still nothing from WestJet, still showing as a-ok in the app. I guess they'll tell me at some point...

While we're at it, does WS512 (YLW-YYZ direct) actually exist in late May? Can't find it on the WestJet site or app, but flightmapper says:

Thu,Fri,Sun 11:30 Kelowna (YLW) 18:43 Lester B. Pearson, Toronto (YYZ) 3
WS 512 Non-stop Boeing 737-700 (73W) 4:13 Effective 2022-05-26 through 2022-06-02

I checked from mid-May until the first week of Jun, the flight is listed as available every day for standby travel, but not for confirmed ticket purchase on Fri, Sun, Mon (i.e. 13, 15, 16, 20, 22, 23, 27, 29, 30 May), but available all other days and each day for Jun.

Not sure if this means they may be looking at changes, whether there is a glitch in posted flights, or another reason.

This secret cancellation syndrome is not customer friendly. I discovered a YYJ-YEG sector in May is cancelled but not showing as such. Thankfully I bought a back up on AC for my YUL flight as otherwise I might be up the creek at this point, or at least paying 2 or 3 times as much!

Thanks for this. I booked the direct flight for May 28th when it was showing but have since been notified that it's now changed to a connection in YYC and once again no direct flights are showing on the schedule. Bummer.
