YYC-YYT now also is twice a day (and YEG-YYT once a day) on many days during the summer. How do they expect filling those planes?

6x seemed low. This is much nicer. Sudden change due to Lynx's demise?

YYC-YYT is 13x weekly, not a huge jump. The flights have few empty seats and high fares.
- Lynx gone
- only a single daily YYZ-YYT
- growth

The schedule update was filed before the Lynx news came out. I'm guessing it was misfiled during the initial summer schedule update.

I originally had a delta points redemption sfo-yyc-yyz-yyt-yeg-sfo

The schedule changes however meant that they had to send me via YYC on the outbound and YEG on the return with no connection in YYZ which Im not complaining about. To accommodate the new routing K do have to leav SFO 2 hours earlier though.

No. It's most likely crew rest because the outbound left YYC so late.

I don't believe it's been noted on this thread, but WS will be operating some former Swoop routes to the Atlantics out of YHM over the summer:
  • YHM-YYT 5x weekly
  • YHM-YHZ daily
Unsurprisingly, both routes seem to feature the ex-Swoop 7S8 aircraft quite a bit over the summer.

Does anyone know if any Calgary-UK expansion is predicted for Summer 2025? So much potential for new airports outside of the current routes!

As in other UK destinations from yyc? I doubt it. Especially with their stretched fleet.

Likely as WS has success in the UK market. Last year there was YYC-LGW and YYC-LHR (both daily), they only ended this because they needed to free up a plane for their other endavours,

My prediction is that YYC-EDI will be downgraded to a MAX (like YYC-KEF), and the 787 on that route will either add a twice/day service (YYC - LHR), or maybe the addition of YYC - MAN,

The range of a MAX8 is 4082 miles and YYC-EDI is 4062 miles... That is way too close. They would need to stop and refuel somewhere, eliminating the attractiveness of the route.

With jet stream winds and typical baggage load, the realistic maximum range of the MAX 8 is about 5,800km / 3,600 miles.

Both Westjet and AC have YHZ-YVR routes using Max 8s which reaches/exceeds that 5800 km threshold I'm pretty sure.
