Press release for summer schedule is out. Highlights new/returning and extended routes. Sounds like it will be fully updated by end of the week.

The rest of the summer schedule was filled last night and should hit the booking system later tonight.

Seems Quebec has been overall reduced, while Atlantic Canada is seeing a boost.

YYC-BOS was upped to daily
YYC-SEA was upped to 3x daily / YEG-SEA down to 4x weekly

YYC-KEF was extended by about 4 weeks into October.

ICN was re-timed by one hour:
WS86 YYC 16:50 - 19:40+1 ICN 357
WS87 ICN 21:40 - 17:00 YYC 146

I'm assuming that the Edmonton departure will not leave from the transborder gates because I can't think of another US-bound flight in the evening (or dailies past 2pm, really) that would warrant USCBP staffing........

^No, just like the YYC-ATL red-eye it will post-clear upon arrival. Post clear Transborder flights have a 19XX flight number.

This page has been updated and reflects the updates over the weekend:
https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/flights/direct-flights

Additionally looks like YYC-DUB has been reduced to 4x weekly removing the Sunday flight. This means all 7 dreamliners will only be needed on Fridays (for outbound) and Saturdays (for inbound). Gives a little bit extra slack.

Ugh... ATL's international terminal is awful.

CBP seem to have an unlimited number of officers on hand to annoy departing passengers with jetway interviews yet every international widebody arrival appears to be an unprecedented event they couldn't have possibly prepared for.

Not sure if this is a test flight for an impending new route announcement, charter or something else, but WS just flew YYT-BFS:

What are we to make of the Swissport dude's comment?

Sean Murphy - Vice President Commercial - Swissport Canada

Extremely pleased with the new partnership in Belfast between WestJet and Swissport, we continue to grow together!
Seems like a strange way to describe a one-off.

Perhaps it is a permanent charter contract?

More MAX 8s, less MAX 10s as needed.
