New domestic service to Dawson Creek (YDQ) launches today from YYC. Was originally suppose to start back in April 2020.

WS has extended free change/cancellation to December 31, 2021, abandoning a month-to-month extension. I wonder if bookings are stagnating or slowing down...

AC is still moving month-to-month with unlimited changes/free cancellation.

WestJet launching new service between Toronto and Dublin

https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/news/2...nto-and-dublin

I'm not surprised after the recent announcement of direct 737 MAX flights between Toronto and Scotland that WestJet is now planning to do the same with Dublin.

No word on YYC-DUB 787 service resumption. Hope to hear something in the coming months!

The YYC-DUB flights are bookable for 2022, although that doesn't mean they'll actually happen.

Additionally, the Managing Director of Dublin Airport quoted in the WestJet press release seems to think YYC will be happening:
“We are delighted to see WestJet’s route network at Dublin Airport expand further with the addition of Toronto – Dublin to complement the existing Halifax and Calgary services."

Really looking forward to seeing what additional routes they will announce for summer 2022 on the Dreamliner. With 10 in the fleet by next summer, there should be a few route announcements coming...

Right now, I'd say that there is enough utilization for only seven 787s

YYC/YYZ/YVR-LGW (1 each, 3 total)
YYC-CDG (1)
YYC-DUB/FCO (1)
YYC-YYZ (1)
YYZ-BCN (0.5-1, only 3x weekly)

If YYC-AMS returns, that would leave 2 787s remaining
YVR-YYZ is not only the 787 schedule as of now for S22

I imagine the 787 delivery delays are why WS hasn't announced any new routes/increased frequencies on exisiting routes for S22 yet. Also I don't think its been determined if they'll have all 10 by next summer either.

Have the revised in service dates for the remaining frames been set yet, or still TBD?

Boeing hasn't delivered any 787s in a while as the FAA is looking into production issues. Until that is sorted out, I imagine any delivery of the remaining frames will be TBD.

I need to go from YYJ to YUL. AC runs 3 flights a day from YVR (330, 787, MAX) and WS none. They do go from YYC once a day on 737. I’m surprised AC could fill ~ 700 seats on this route each day and WS wouldn’t try running one flight between YVR and YUL. Anyone have any insight as to why this may be? I imagine the fact that YUL is one of AC’s hubs plays a role.

Thx

Some additional November changes were loaded over the last week or so.
YOW-RSW, YWG-LAS, YYC-VRA, YHZ-MCO have all been removed until mid-December now. YEG/YYZ-LAS, YYC-BNA/ATL were also reduced in November.

So far YOW/YWG/YHZ-Mexico are still planned in November.

Starting November, WS YYC-YUL goes to just 2x weekly.

WestJet: "We want to attract business travellers"
Also WestJet: "We don't think you need to travel between Montreal and Vancouver and if you do, then only infrequently or with a stop in Calgary"
