December 2020 YVR-LGW

Weird .. trying to book on westjet.com / all flights after Dec 22, YVR-LGW and return show sold out.. but if you search the flights on Google, there is availability, but trying to book gives an error. any idea why?

Ron.

Isn't YVR-LGW seasonal?
As in summer seasonal.

I've seen this before when trying to make reservations right at the end of WestJet's schedule. Basically you can only book 320 days out, not 330 as with most airlines. This is for any route, not specific to LGW. They claim 330, but it simply isn't possible in my experience.

Last week there was only availability up to Dec. 15. Another 7 days worth of flights became available Friday night or Saturday morning.

WestJet works up to a maximum 330 days out, but normally new fares will be loaded routinely once a week, so 32x days is normal.

Ok.. but.. showing 'sold out' is not smart.. most people will move on and book with someone else.

and even more frustrating.. Google Flights shows available flights, but when you try to book, you get an error.

Flights for Dec 23 to 30 became available tonight. But, no L or K fares on many routes. What are the chances there will be any inventory for these lower fares at a later date?

it depends on whether the inventory is being sold at the expected rate for the planned booking curve, if it is below they will use lower fare classes to stimulate sales, if on target or above they likely won’t be posted, especially on most routes around busy Christmas or other holiday periods.
