Compensation for cancelled flight
 
I was notified at 10:26am that my flight on August 16th from YOW -YYZ-YVR departing at 1345 and arriving in Vancouver at 1804 was canceled due to no crew available and I was rescheduled on a flight from YOW to YVR leaving at 1745 and arriving at 2015. Am I entitled to compensation? I was told I would get an email which I am still waiting on. Is there a standard amount for cancellations by airlines?

The rules for delay or cancellation are based on arrival at destination relative to scheduled time and don’t come into effect until 15 Dec, no compensation will be due in this case for a delay less than 3 hours in arrival.

They may send you complimentary WestJet dollars for $100 or so that are valid for a short period, such as 6 months.

All things considered, you're only arriving approx 2 hours late.
