WJ dollars earning question...

WJ dollars earning question...
Forgive me, but I'm a relatively infrequent WJ flyer since they dropped YYT-LGW direct. I was succesful in status match to AC E35k to get gold this year & have recently flown one TATL via YHZ with another coming up next week and potentially 2-3 more before the end of the year. I have a question on WJ dollars. They are earned once you have flown (as per AC AQD) but is earning for status retention also linked to when you booked? Specifically I booked travel back in Feb for July but didn't get gold Status until April. Will that July travel booked before I had status count towards retaining gold status for next year?

Maybe this is a good thread to ask this: I had a two-leg itinerary. The first leg shows $221 as eligible spend, the second one $70. Each one earned me 1 WestJet Dollar.
Why didn't I earn 2 WestJet Dollars for the first segment? 1% of 221 = >2.

What tier are you in? Teal earns 0.5%, Silver 3%, Gold 5% and Platinum 8%. If you are Teal, 0.5% of $221 = $1 and you were lucky they rounded up on the $70 leg to $1.
