On board the first flight were 71 guests including Ed Sims, WestJet President and CEO, Chris Burley, WestJet Board Chair and Chris Rauenbusch, President, CUPE Local 4070 and a member of WestJet's Inflight team. The aircraft was piloted by Captain David Colquhoun, WestJet Master Executive Council Chair, Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) and Captain Scott Wilson, Vice President WestJet Operations.

So much for the ranters that suggest that airline executives (and other leaders) wouldn't fly on a MAX.

All airplanes attract gremlins when not used enough.
Not all attract media attention.

Until the revised MAX has sufficient flying time to establish a new reputation, a certain segment of the public will only see it is the aircraft "that crashed".

If you want the opinion of a very seasoned pilot, a person who is very risk conscious, someone who is technically savvy and overall just a very nice person, Scott Wilson is the guy. I've worked with him quite a bit in the past and if he is happy with the MAX return to service (he was co-pilot on the first WS return-to-service flight last week), I'm quite happy to fly on it, too.

A new WS MAX 8 was on a test flight from BFI today and is expected to be delivered in the coming days. Reg: C-GWLK.

The Globe and Mail is reporting that WestJet has cancelled 15 of their ordered 737 Max aircraft.

WestJet cancels orders for 15 Boeing 737 Max planes as industry struggles

WestJet Airlines Ltd. says it has cancelled orders for 15 Boeing 737 Max aircraft as the industry-wide downturn in aviation continues.

WestJet has 27 Max aircraft remaining on order, the company says.

Has it be disclosed if it is a MAX 7, 8 or 10?

The Max 7 is clearly the least desirable globally. That said WS did want them.
