Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but haven't seen it.

Just book an eligible fare (excludes basic fare) on a WestJet flight within Canada or to/from the U.S. and take advantage of this rewarding offer. Be sure to add your WestJet Rewards ID to your bookings.

Simply register, book and travel:

I received it ... and this was part of my rant about WestJet's short-term offers in the "$50 bonus" thread.

I believe I received this on Feb 25.

All of my March travel - all on WestJet - had already been booked, well in advance, before I received this offer. I have nothing left still to book between now and late April.

So, for my WestJet loyalty, I get no bump or bonus. All because I booked early with WS.

But, had I waited to book (relatively) last minute, I'd have received double the Qualifying spend.

Grrrrr. I find this bloody frustrating.

The flip side is if you booked last minute, this offer would have really helped you but your tickets would have cost a lot more as well.

From what I’ve noticed, not really.

First, when I book further in advance, I tend to book Flex. When it’s more last minute, I tend to book Econo.

And was just surprised last week when I called in to make a change to the return segment — same day, just a later flight - just three days before flying. I’d initially purchased my ticket in late December. After paying the change fee, I still came out ahead. Prices on the segment I was changing were actually lower (just a few days out) than when I first bought it, two plus months ago.

I’m ok with prices changing. It’s just the “no promo for you if you book early” attitude that WS has.

(Those flights last week came after the Feb 25 start for this new “double Qualifying” promo. Both segments posted to my account last night, without any bonus. Cuz I foolishly booked with WestJet in advance, and gave them my money too soon. Once again, grrrrrrrrr.)
