WS announce winter schedule 13/14 season. WS will to start a new nonstop YYC-MIA. Westjet Encore to start a new nonstop YXE-YWG, YQR-YWG, and YVR-YKA. And also, Westjet will have more frequency from YYC-MCO/PHX/SAN. |
Slim pickings for YEG it seems, though the MIA might come in handy for some connections.

WestJet Encore please add YYC-YQL. Air Canada fares are killing me on this route.

MIA because they are partners with AA.

For the me and the people I do business with, saving time trumps collecting near valueless points and vague chances of upgrades on EVERY occasion. I'd rather be going to where I need to be instead of sitting in a lounge eating stale sandwiches WAITING to go where I need to be. :) |
Anything that is discontinued, changing from yearly to seasonal or not returning from last winter?

Does WS still do YYJ-Hawaii seasonally? What about YQQ-PVR?

FLL is a cheapest than MIA. It very near cruise terminal. It's very easy, and is more convenient who want to fly to FLL instead of going to MIA.

Miami has been known to have the odd cruise ship sail from there as well.

Would it be feasible to have a MIA based plane that flies one day a week to some underserved markets like: YLW, YEG, YQR & YXE, YWG, YQT, etc.? I know that I'd pay a good premium to get on a direct flight to Miami, and I could start a holiday any day of the week.
I'm sure if it made sense, an airline would be doing it. I don't see landing slots being an issue. Or doesl that screw up the price that the airline could charge for all their other flights? |
