Denver Connection Time
 

Hey All in the UA Forum,
I am exclusively a CO flyer, but am trying United for a future trip in may on two segments since CO is entering *A after Oct 24th. I am flying CO from IAH to DEN (757-200 both) and UA from DEN to ORD (767-300 new B-class both) (and vice-versa) to try out both airline's business class hard products (Q-Up deal). On the way back, I have only a 43 minute connection (arv 10:42am/dep 11:25am) through DEN transferring from the B 30-series gates to A43-47 I think. Is that enough time? Any tips? Should I contact CO to inoform them of my tight connection? The last few days seem to have been delay free into DEN. Thanks for your time.

The tram will be your only way to connect. IF your flight arrives on-time, you will make it. If it's more than 15 minutes late, you might run into a problem.

I have connected in Denver hundreds of time and taken the train from concourse B to bag claim as well, which invariable stops at concourse A. The widebody from ORD will arrive at a gate very close to the tram, most likely B32, 36, 42, or 39. This means that from when the door opens on the 767 to when you get to the tram entrance should take about 3 minutes if there is no dealy getting on the train. The train itself will take one minute, with a wait of up to three minutes. Thus, I'd give yourself 10 minutes from the airplane door opening to getting to the CO gate. This assumes you dont stop anywhere but you should be fine if the flight arrives reasonably on time.

I concur - if flight arrives on time, you have adequate time to make the connection. And I would add that trains run about every 3-4 minutes, and trip to A is only a 2-3 minutes.

The OP's connection time in Denver is sufficient and the trains during that period runs every 3-5 minutes...

As another FTer posted, my experience is that most of the larger planes (B767/B777) do board around at gates near the center of the terminal right above the tram stations, so connecting should be no problem (unless there is a delay on the first leg.

I've connected between terminal C to terminal A with 20 minutes, but don't stop anywhere along the way.

Thanks a lot for the responses. Definitely looking forward to the alliance with United's network and bigger domestic planes. I have a longer connection on the way out. Any recommendations on good food on the concourses? Anything individual to Denver?

Que Bueno in concourse B.

There's a very good wrap place right in the middle of the B concourse. I also like Pour La France, but that's more of a breakfast place in my opinion.

The Quizno's on the A concourse has a deal with the bar next door, you can sit at the bar and order subs/salads to be delivered, all on one bill. They also make a great, huge, spicy Bloody Mary.

Specifically Que Bueno is near gate B52 if memory serves correctly :)

They've actually won a number of food awards - in competition with all the "real" restaurants in Denver.

With that said however, I don't think they're "all that". Steak Escape in the middle of the B-concourse "food court" is where one typically finds flight crew, so take that for what it's worth.
