Wyoming

People should come to Wyoming. Vedawoo is very nice (a few minutes drive from Laramie), Jackson Hole, Grand Teton mountains, etc...

Has anyone come here?

This thread is started because it seems Wyoming is always left out.

We camped at Devil's Tower National Monument last summer and had a great time. Stunning country you have there. At the campground they show "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" on a big outdoor screen every night. Just at the point in the movie when the UFOs are converging on Devil's Tower, a bunch of real shooting stars sailed over our heads. Unforgettable.

Question for you DCA.

When one drives from Laramie to the Snowy Range, is there still an old police car with a dressed up dummy parked in Centennial (pop. 100), carefully positioned to scare the willies out of anyone speeding through the village?

Also, is there still a huge junk shop in the old ghost town of Bosler, just north of Laramie?

We were there in June of '04. Saw the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone.
We plan to be in Devils Tower on July 2 of this year.

Question for BearX220: We would like to watch the movie at the KOA, but we will not be staying there. Do they check to see if you're staying at the KOA?

No, and I don't see how they could. The movie is shown in an open-air space on the edge of the campground. People wander back and forth in the semi-darkness all the time. Just be discreet, walk around the back of the campground, and bring your own camp chairs.

They got rid of the dummy and replaced it with a real cop. :td: One of my friends found that out the hard way. :D

I don't think it is still there. Last time I was north of Laramie they were tearing it down, but the ghosts might still be there. ;)

I actually want to visit and am looking at going this summer, although I know it'll be crowded.

Crowded?

When has Wyoming ever been crowded? Yellowstone Park and Teton county maybe but the state's population comes to Billings, MT every darn weekend to avoid paying sales taxes. I apologize but being from Billings, I couldn't resist making a jab at this.
