Anybody been to in-n-out?

Looks like there's one in suburban SFO and Scottsdale - looks interesting...

perhaps it was all the hype I heard before going.....but I was very underwhelmed. http://www.flyertalk.com/dining/ftdi...orum/frown.gif

There is no better fast food burger than In and Out. I'd kill myself before eating at another White Castle, but I'll take In and Out anyday.

Most tasteless, boring offerings in the fast burger line. I found the taste of the fries (the oil?) particularly off-putting. (Milpitas, CA)

I enjoyed my in-n-out burger when I ate there a while back. Their deal is that they use only fresh not frozen ground beef.

Tho the best part of the meal was getting my client (they were REALLY into the place) one of the hats that the counter people wore when we went through the drive through.

I defer to other CA residents who eat more often in their venue to judge its quality. I think I was famished at the time, but it was pretty good.

(Though I do have a hard time heartily endorsing it if Sweet Willie was underwhelmed!)

Check out the archives for an exhaustive discussion on these 'dumpy' burgers.

The first time I went, I thought it was pretty teriffic. Second time, OK. After the 3rd and last visit....

Next time you buy a drink there, lift up the cup and look on the bottom for some religious writings.

Try the french fries.

They are GREAT!

Good luck!

When In & Out finally moved to San Diego around 1990, the one closest to me had to drive in a mobile kitchen in a semi to keep up with business for the first few weeks...

Most of the other chains are within a block or two of In & Out (McDonald's, Carl's, Burger King, Jack In The Box) but the traffic through In & Out is much more than the others...I'd love to own stock if they weren't family owned..

One of my older colleagues grew up in S. Cal, went to school with the founder's son in the 60s, and had his first job at 16 working the grill.

I've heard SO many In-N-Out 'history' stories. http://www.flyertalk.com/dining/ftdi...um/biggrin.gif

Almost always my first stop on any California trip... and I even carry the pocket locator in my travel "survival" pack (along with my drink coupons and upgrade certs)!

When it comes to fast food burgers, there is nothing better to me than a double double and a side of fries!

I am not a big fan either.

I tried them, and I liked them. http://www.flyertalk.com/dining/ftdi...orum/smile.gif

In fact, I love them.
