VIP Tour at Boeing

I don't know if OMNI is the best place to post this, but I'll give it a shot...

Some years ago, I took the standard Boeing factory tour and found it to be a great disappointment. We watched a movie, then took a bus over to the factory, where we walked down a corridor, went up an elevator, and then were invited to look out over the factory floor from an observation platform. That was it.

Ever since then I've wanted to do a VIP tour at Boeing, where I would be on the actual factory floor itself. Like many of us here, I'm an avgeek, and I've thought this would be about the best way to indulge my avgeekiness I could imagine. I've tried various routes to get in but without success.

Well, recently I won a Boeing VIP factory tour for five in a charity auction. It wasn't cheap, but the money goes to a good cause and I get to mark something off my bucket list, so everyone wins.

My question is, can anyone who has done a Boeing VIP factory tour offer any thoughts on what to expect, any tips on how to make the most of it? I don't want to get home and have a "D'oh!" moment where I realize I should have asked to see x, to walk beneath y, or to take a picture of z. What did you see and do on your VIP tour? What were your favorite and least favorite aspects of it? In retrospect, what do you wish you had done differently?

Should probably get moved over to Destinations - America - West.

Good idea.

While it is borderline for OMNI, the West Forum is probably a better location.

No answer for you, but want to thank you for a heads up about the regular tour. I wanted to do this, and would have been annoyed to pay $60 (last time I checked) for that. Guess I don't want to know how much you paid  but you say it was for a good cause. And if it gets it off your bucket list .... ^

The regular tour is $20 or less depending on if you buy in advance. I enjoyed it. No, you don't get to go on the floor but just seeing the inside of the insanely massive facility was a good bit of fun.

But a VIP tour would be amazing. I saw a lot of things I wanted to see up close not to mention just to be on the floor and truly get the scale of the building.

Enjoy! I'm super jealous. :)
